There should be strict control on the sale of assault weapons. Otherwise we will continue to have shooting incidents like Luby’s Cafeteria, McDonald’s, University of Texas, Virginia Tech, Aurora Theater, Sandy Hook Elementary School, Pulse Night Club, Columbine High School, Texas Church, Las Vegas, Borderline Bar and Grill, Tree of Life Synagogue, Santa Fe High School, and Parkland.

Deaths by location: Luby’s Cafeteria (23), McDonald’s (21), University of Texas (15), Virginia Tech (32), Aurora Theater (12), Sandy Hook Elementary School (26), Pulse Night Club (49), Columbine High School (13), Texas Church (25), Las Vegas (58), Borderline Bar and Grill (12), Tree of Life Synagogue (11), Santa Fe High School (10), and Parkland (17).

This plea does not include or consider Hand Guns or the various types of Pistols as assault weapons. Assault weapons are the various types of rifles. Purchasing an Assault Weapon is the equivalent of buying a car when you only need a Wagon. There is no point in purchasing an Assault Weapon if you are not planning to shoot it. Yes, you can go to the range but idiots buying Assault weapons are not interested in silhouettes. Persons buying Assault weapons are interested in shooting a pop up target, an animal, another human, and in some cases a spouse.

I am appalled that individuals can purchase Assault weapons in a civilize setting. How is it possible to sell Assault weapons in civilize Country? We need to control sales of Assault weapons. This is not a war Zone. Many of the persons buying weapons would not serve a day in the military because they are physically or mentally incapable or just plain cowards. Unfortunately, those persons commit heinous acts. There is no understanding of the use of an Assault weapon in a civilize setting. In the Military, you are not issued certain weapons unless your Military Occupational Specialty requires the use of said weapons.

What happened in Luby’s Cafeteria (23), McDonald’s (21), University of Texas (15), Virginia Tech (32), Aurora Theater (12), Sandy Hook Elementary School (26), Pulse Night Club (49), Columbine High School (13), Texas Church (25), Las Vegas (58), Borderline Bar and Grill (12), Tree of Life Synagogue (11), Santa Fe High School (10), and Parkland (17) was Barbaric. Clearly, Sales of Assault weapons cost Lives.

Sales of Assault weapons are not good for the civil health of our society. Gun shops are about making money. Once again, greed rears its ugly head similar to those who took money to teach people how to fly airplanes and unconcern that said individuals had no interest in learning how to return to Land. Greed got us into a financial crisis in 2008. Our Society and way of Life is in danger of falling off the proverbial Cliff and our Authority elements are acting like “Dimwits”. Greed from the sale of Assault Weapons will create mayhem in our society.

Reactions to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre included buffoons suggesting arming teachers. Arming teachers is a bad, ridiculous, and ludicrous idea. Arming teachers is an idea that has permanent residency in the preposterous.

The solution is to take some of that ridiculous money Superintendents of High schools make and install cameras at all corners. In addition, put a security detail together with qualified Guards and CCTV. Use common sense and security measures to ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to said premises. Have staffed camera surveillance at all perimeter entrances and exits. Maintenance of such a system will require two shifts of Guards with the second shift on duty until all school personnel leave each day.

Assault weapons are not good for the civil health of our society. Imagine the 60’s riots with assault rifles. The second Amendment is alive and well but it is time to restrict or prohibit the sale of assault weapons. Neighborhood facilities are not war zones. What was witnessed in the Las Vegas massacre, should give non-military people a glimpse or preview of what a war zone look and feel like. That kind of event does not belong on our streets. Our streets are for the expression of civility, peace, love, and accord.

The Las Vegas massacre was a planned slaughter of innocent people. Stephen Paddock picked the time of day, and location to maximize the carnage. He cleverly selected a vantage point that gave him maximum view and concealment. Unless you are highly analytical or with a military past, in that crowded space with poor lighting, you were at significant disadvantage against someone firing a rifle in automatic mode.

We may never know why Stephen Paddock decided to end his Life. Clearly, he did and decided to take people with him. The Las Vegas massacre was the echo of Stephen Paddock saying; stop the world, let me off. It is possible that he had a vision of meeting with seven virgins in the after Life. Unfortunately, he left several wives on earth to carry on as virgins. I wish them well as they deal with grief and try to move forward.

It is approximately 2500 miles from Honduras to the US Southern border. Unless you are an idiot, 7000 Migrants are not walking that distance. They are being shuttled when they are not on camera. If you account for all necessary daily Biological functions, then the conclusion is this is a staged event. It is a staged event designed to make POTUS look bad or the Migrants are all Spartacus.

I can only think of one person who would attempt to walk 2500 miles. That person is my Grandfather when he was less than 30 years of age. Unfortunately, I did not know him at that age and he is not alive for us to have that discussion. Regardless he would not be in a crowd of 7000 and if he walked 2500 miles, there would be no women and children in that pedestrian excursion. At the very least, that is my reflection.

If the Mexican government is unable to prevent 7000 presumed unarmed Immigrants from marching through the proverbial Main Street, then this is an amazing moment. The United States Military should take note. If the Mexican government is unable to prevent 7000 presumed unarmed Immigrants from walking down Main Street, whom can they stop? There is significant Takeaway for the US Military Generals.

What is Immigration? Clearly not 7000 people walking 2500 Miles in an obviously staged event motivated by a Spartacus moment. Marching to the border with the expectation of being allowed in is an Invasion not Immigration. Invasions will always prompt a Military response. Said migrants had better not display any violence.

The History of Immigration to the United States reflects a control orderly flow of immigrants conducted on policy or needs basis. This staged event is consistent with Emigration and with the threat of similar actions in the region, these movements resemble an Exodus. Perhaps, it is time to reevaluate the Political infrastructure of South America including Mexico. Nation Building is not a good thing but clearly, something has gone wrong. Exodus is not good for the Hemisphere.

Building a wall at the border is a good thing. Those in opposition are short sighted and need to look beyond the apparent. Most Mexicans are good people and while the wall will restrict their migration, they are simply victims of Geographical location. The wall is about preventing uncontrolled and unlawful entry to the United States from the South. To assume that Mexicans are the only people using that route is fallacious. Such an assumption is inaccurate. Mexicans are not the only ones crossing the Southern border. People from Central and South America, the Middle East, Asia, and even Africa are entering the United States via the Southern border.

If you were near the Southern border at Nogales Arizona, Tijuana California, Juarez New Mexico, or Brownsville Texas and saw a Male or Female that you knew was not Black or White; would you be able to tell if that person was Asian, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern just by looking at them. I think not.

Let us say you determined accurately and the person was Hispanic, could you determine if that person was Mexican, Guatemalan, Colombian, Ecuadorian, Brazilian, Argentinean, Honduran, Venezuelan, etc. I guarantee that better than Ninety Percent of the population could not.

Depending on your position or location, someone you assume is Mexican, could be from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, India, or Afghanistan. There are other countries but the short list is consistent with keeping it simple. No wall is impenetrable but I find it difficult to believe that someone who built Towers for a living intends to construct a Picket Fence. As a backup, there will be adequate military assets and work force to provide constant support.

Engineers will design a two or three tier wall with physical deterrent material between. Tunnels will not be safe or untouched from that kind of construction. Tunnels will be discovered and destroyed. Homeland Security might leave some Tunnels open using them as collection points. To preserve greatness, progress, success, and happiness; building a wall is action required. Action delayed is resolution denied.

There are 7000 Migrants marching to the Southern Border. Can they be stopped when they arrive? The answer is yes. POTUS should shut the Border down. Sign is up; we are closed for business indefinitely. What normally happens when a merchant is on vacation and you visit the store? That is right; you go away and come back when the merchant returns. What happens if you try to break the door down? That is right; the alarm sounds and you suffer the consequence.

Those of us who were born before the Vietnam War are in a state of shock. We are horrified that this matter ever transpired. Intelligent people regardless of Ethnic background see this matter as a threat to the American culture.

This matter was a blatant attempt to conduct character assassination. This kind of behavior threatens Individualism. That someone can after 40 years accuse you of a presumed incident with the intent to negatively affect your life, is alarming.

Clearly, the good Judge did not handle rebuttal of the claim well. He would be the first to agree. He allowed anger and consternation to get the better of him. He should have composed himself in his responses, to the extent where some questions would have been given the “No Comment” or “I plead the 5th “. Divulging details of his Sex life was not vintage Best Practice.

Attorney Rachel Mitchell did not ask the right questions. I am baffled as to the reason. If you are there under the pretense of objectivity then why not ask questions consistent with that objective. Those of us who are fair and impartial found her line of questioning ineffective.

Here are some questions that should have been asked by Rachel Mitchell of Christine Blasey Ford:

  • Are you sure that you know Brett Kavanaugh
  • How long have you known him
  • When was the last time you both met privately and or in a Group setting
  • During your teen years, how often did you meet with Brett Kavanaugh or be in his presence
  • Were your meetings one-on-one or as part of a Group
  • Describe in one sentence or less your meetings with Brett Kavanaugh
  • Did you ever consider Dating Brett Kavanaugh
  • During your teen years did you like Brett Kavanaugh
  • Describe the Brett Kavanaugh you knew in your teen years
  • How certain are you that the Party was in 1982
  • Was there anything particular about 1982 other than Brett Kavanaugh, that prompted you to say that the incident occurred in that year
  • How did you get to the Party
  • You were presumably 15 at the time of the incident, did you have your parents permission to attend the party
  • People leave Parties before midnight or after, do you recall if you left before or after midnight
  • How did you get home
  • Do you recall about what time you returned home
  • Do you recall if your Parents were awake when you returned home
  • Did you tell your Parents about the incident
  • Are your Parents alive, if so would you allow a meeting regarding this matter
  • Did you notice any attitudinal changes as a result of the incident
  • When did you first realize attitudinal changes
  • How are you feeling at this moment…?

Those are just some of the questions that should have been asked. Pinpoint questions with Yes, No, or explicit answers. Attorney Rachel Mitchell involvement was to eliminate the need for an onlooker to formulate interpretation. Those of us who are fair and impartial found her line of questioning ineffective.

Parents with teenage sons should take notice of “The Kavanaugh Matter”. Today it is Brett Kavanaugh. Tomorrow it will be your son. You must reject character assassination. Allegations unsubstantiated by corroborating evidence must not become the new norm. Failing to do so will render your child susceptible to baseless accusations decades later. Accusations created with malicious intent, jealousy, and designed to inflict defamation of character should not be the new norm. These days, people appear more motivated to keep their fellow man down as opposed to doing things to uplift themselves.

Almost all on Capitol Hill did something as a teenager they regret. People in Glass Houses should not throw stones. How many Democrats currently in Leadership do you think could survive the scrutiny Brett Kavanaugh endured? Some currently on Capitol Hill who are not teenagers do or say things I hope they regret.

The Hearing process consistent with nomination to Federal positions might be damaged by the despicable conduct during the “Kavanaugh Hearing”. Can the process of Advice and Consent be repaired? Perhaps, but it might require a real Spartacus moment. The Hearing process consistent with nomination to the Supreme Court has been modified, to the extent that it is easier to succeed in an interview to become a Catholic Priest.

Supreme Court nominees who dare to exhibit interest in Females as teenagers are not welcome to the Fraternity or at least according to high profile members of the Democratic Party. Do not ingest “fire water” as a college student. Do not hang out with the fast crowd in school. Guilt by association is significant and will be held against you, even if said association occurred in your teen years. The best demeanor is to be a card-carrying member of the “Judicial space cadet” club. Daily routine should include Mom knocking on your forehead and inquire, “Is anyone home”.

If you watched the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford, you cannot avoid noticing that there is something wrong psychologically. Perhaps, that is the look of psychology professors. I did not scrutinize the demeanor of psychology professors in school. I should visit a campus for an observation tour of members of that faculty.

In the wake of the defeat of losers in the Democratic Party, there is talk of impeaching Brett Kavanaugh. That is veiled threat, unless of course, the Democratic Party wishes to concede defeat before the Mid-Term elections. Frankly, my pulse indicates that there is no need for progressives to make even a cameo appearance at the polls. The Democratic Party will lose seats in Congress after the Mid-Term elections. The Gain they predicted is just a mirage.

Brett Kavanaugh has attained his objective in Life. Appointment to the Supreme Court is a Lifetime position. The plot to derail the process of confirming Brett Kavanaugh, failed.

NORTH KOREA – POST SUMMIT

The summit in Singapore was a stunning surprise, perhaps too much so. Months later reality has set in or Kim jong Un has come to his senses. Maybe “The KIM” heard, deduced enough, and thinks he has a good preview of the adversary.

Posted account of destruction of nuclear installations after the summit may have been a smoke screen. What is beyond the apparent? Certainly, military intelligence should perceive it accordingly. Consistent with that realization, now what.

Will there be a follow up summit. If so, when, where, and why. Will the summit be to rehash the same verbiage, or for POTUS to inquire which word was misunderstood. Sometimes Leaders enter a room and discuss but after leaving, it is apparent that something was lost in the translation or interpretation. Was it because there was an I before an E or E before an I. Something is contributing to exhibiting misunderstandings or seeming disconnecting.

North Korea could not develop nuclear weapons without assistance. POTUS should press the Intelligence community to find out who provided assistance and are they still. Was it China, Russia, or Iran and if not who. Continue with the sanctions and inventory of receipt of goods. Find out through sanctions where from and what goods are arriving. Is it Jelly in the bottle or grey poupon dijon mustard? Is it water in the container or Atomic Isotopes?

The goal is to denuclearize North Korea and prevent use of such capacity to pressure South Korea into unifying the Korean peninsula on their terms. Sanctions will shed light on North Korea intentions. Action delayed is resolution denied.

Some in the International Community would like to imagine there is a diplomatic end to this conflict. That is a noble idea; now imagine there is no Western Civilization. Imagine there are no Olympics in Japan in 2020 or imagine you are not breathing.

Kim jong Un is out of show time. He is at the action stage. “The KIM” is at the point of no return. Saving face and leadership of the rogue regime is at stake. The International Community should be preparing for that moment. As sure as the sun shines tomorrow, he will get there.

The Hydrogen bomb is not an asset “The KIM” should be allowed to have. Therefore, the international community is witness to the arrival of Kim jong Un to the Unacceptable Zone. Hereafter we could be crossing over to the twilight zone. Diplomacy has yet to prove that it is an option. That horse appears to have left the Barn with no intention of returning, anytime soon.

Nuclear Technology is in the hands of the wrong person. Country could take away the ability to use Nuclear Technology but that might require a well-coordinated clandestine exercise. North Korea is a run-away child running wild in search of attention, which undoubtedly becomes a distraction from more important matters. North Korea nuclear ability must be destroyed. North Korea is noise in a quiet zone.

It is time to begin the scale back of proliferation. North Korea chose to be the start point. You have to start somewhere if there is any hope of maintaining civilization. As long as my Brothers and Cousins do not blink too long, the goal will be accomplished – “Stop Nuclear Proliferation” and the provocateurs who promote.

North Korea is interested in unifying the Korean peninsula. The only problem is a North lead unification with Communist ideals will be unacceptable to an International Community led by the USA. On the other hand if the unification of said peninsula is promoted by the South Koreans, promising a Republic political system, that might be an action acceptable by the World community. Course this is assuming that South Koreans are interested in unification, though you will admit that would be an ideal situation.

Which kind of unification would you prefer? Would you prefer a Korean Peninsula that looks more like North Korea or South Korea? In many ways the question is the equivalent of asking, if there was no day or night, which would you prefer to be right. North Korea has an opportunity to take POTUS country upgrade offer but will “The Kim”, accept.

Most Historians knew this time would come. Unfortunately, the eventuality is harder than anticipated because of the ineptitude of the two previous Administrations. Liberals and Regressive – alias Progressives, would like to bury their heads in the sand like Ostriches and hope the problem will depart. Unfortunately, that movie will not be coming to the Political Theater anytime soon. The best POTUS can hope for is that someone is ready to go to the Gym and engage in a clandestine exercise.

Diplomacy has not worked for 65 years. On what basis will it work now? It could get ugly but not any uglier than it will look if Kim jong Un is allowed to carry out his obsession of destroying South Korea, Japan, and the United States. This confrontation could be the prelude to World War III but that war is years in the future. A United States North Korea confrontation is several years late but it is better to be late than never. Country is up close and personal with never and that has to be prevented.

These moments try men soul. It comes when Country has important things to address and no one wants Military confrontation. However, the “way forward” is clear and Country has to attend to details. The cards are in hand, both sides need a card, two cards are on the table and face down. Are the faces of the cards Eagle or Red Star?

What will the Korean Peninsula look like in 2020? No one knows but 2020 will be a pivotal year in World History. There is a time to cry, a time to Laugh, a time to talk, and a time to fight. The challenge is knowing when to do each. As my Mentor Winston Churchill would say, Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. It is time for the Peninsula to have some Positive vibrations.

Technologically the concept is good but beyond the apparent, driverless vehicles will have Global Economic and Security impact. For whom are driverless vehicles being made? Whom will the Technology benefit? Artificial Intelligence (AI) is good but at some point, it will threaten Human existence or the survival of some. Technology in the form of computers and the Internet has replaced and displaced some in our Global Community. Barcode scanning replaced Cash Registers and displaced Cashiers.

Driverless vehicles will benefit individuals who have lost Motor Skills or the coordination required to operate a vehicle. However, said persons will have difficulty getting to and inside the vehicle. Clearly, the Human element will still be required, unless a Robot provide assistance. The Robot is Artificial Intelligence.

It is possible that Driverless vehicles will benefit Business entities convinced that automating that task might reduce expenses and increase Revenue. That is imaginable if the intent is to replace the chauffeur or the driver of a Van or Truck. However, you will need someone to open the door or deliver the flowers, unless you intend to replace that person with a Robot. The challenge will be, is it cheaper to purchase a Robot or hire a person.

Not everything new, even that which is good, is better. Driverless vehicles will have an adverse effect on Global Economy. The Technology will have an undesirable impact on the Workforce. All who make a living driving a vehicle, from Taxi Drivers to Truck Drivers; will have to seek alternative occupation.

If driverless vehicles replace Taxi and Truck Drivers, how will those individuals and their families survive? Around the Globe, Millions of people make a Living driving some kind of vehicle. If replaced and displaced, how will they survive?

The knee jerk response is a displaced worker can be re-trained. Good luck in re-training Millions or Billions of people. It has been my observation that those who utter the re-train narrative are individuals who never considered that option for themselves. Many in the Professional/ Vocational ranks should retrain but that would undermine the time and effort invested to attain their status, including Student Loans. We should respect and provide for those who choose to drive vehicles for a Living.

Driverless vehicles will have potential safety risks. Driverless vehicles are the use of a computer system. Computer systems can be hacked. They can also malfunction – intentionally or accidentally. Hardware also age leading to malfunction if not maintained. What are the consequences of malfunction?

Driverless vehicles have potential security risks. In an era where vehicles are used by terrorist or abnormal human elements to kill, it is possible to imagine Driverless vehicles as missiles. You probably have never seen a Land Missile but stay alert and aware, that event is coming to an intersection near you.

The tragedy from those incidents will make the All State and Farmers Insurance commercials depiction of mayhem appear kindergarten. Insurance companies will seek to benefit from the Technology by creating special policies. Profiting from inventions or emerging technology has always been how some business entities thrive – drive on.
