TRACK & FIELD 2023 – GABBY THOMAS

Sources report that Gabby Thomas will focus on the 400M and 200M events. She now realizes that there is no need to stake claim to the 100M Crown. She is stronger in the distances greater than 100M. There is hope of deliverance in the 400M. Gabby can imagine the euphoria of winning the 200M and or 400M Finals in Budapest and Paris.

If Gabby can improve her Quarter Mile time to 49.0 seconds and if the cup runneth over to 48.5 seconds, the competition will have sleepless nights in Budapest and Paris.  400M Stars should add an entry to their Diary that Gabby Thomas is coming to Dinner. Her idea of Dinner is the Gold Medal in the Female 400M event. Gabby Thomas will hunt for treasure in the 400M event.

The 400M event is looking for new participants. Missing is the fire that Sanya Richards Ross brought to the Track. The void now makes it possible for Gabby Thomas to bring excitement and illuminate the event with a “New Era” of competition. A Star is born and nurtured. The flag is waving and opportunity waiting. It will take a little time for the realization but she will be ready by the National Trials.

Beyond National Trials when accomplishments sink in, Gabby Thomas will exhibit performances that produce times in the neighborhood of 49.0 to 48.0 seconds for the 400M. She will attain incomparable status.

Fans believe that by Olympics 2024 she will be running 47.5 seconds for the 400M. Her 200M time will be about 21.3 to 21.2 seconds and secure a position on the Podium.  Women 200M Finals in Budapest and Paris will be exciting. Sub 22.0 seconds will be required to get into the Final. Women 400M Finals in Budapest and Paris will require Sub 51.0 seconds to get into the Final.

Athletes planning to be in the Women 200M Final in Budapest with a Personal Best (PB) slower than 21.8X should skip the event. Participating in the event with a PB south of 21.8X, will make you late for Dinner, where dinner is the Gold Medal. The Women’s 200M Final in Budapest 2023 is on Track for a Time of 21.5 or better. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024

LOOMING DISAPPOINTMENT – 2023

It appears that the rebound of Elaine Thompson Herah (ETH) might be threatened. Pre- season 2022 she opened with a 400M experiment, which in retrospect failed. Pre- season 2023 she again opened with another 400M experiment, which objectively was a failure. Unless it was a planned 300M experiment, it failed or proved nothing. Said experiment can be done in Training. Fans have no interest in seeing their Star struggle. Lactic acid will embarrass any Athlete. Our Star is not focus on her Bread and Butter events. Since the coaching staff is confused, then it is time for Sponsors to speak up. Disappointment is in the air.

If an Athlete wishes to experiment with the 400M, then do it in Training. The notion that running the 400M will prepare one for the 200M is folly, at least for ETH. No one wish for a return to her previous Track Club but Fans are encouraging current coaches to get their act together. ETH is on the cusp of a three – Peat of the double, 100 and 200M, at Olympics in 2024. By Jove, get to that point coaches. If this conduct is a strategy then Fans are now asking what exactly is the Goal. Disappointment is Looming.

Fans anticipate Signature performances in the women 100M, 200M, 400M, and 800M. Competitive Athletes are planning to surprise. They are planning to deliver exceptional performances to cap the era 2016 – 2024. Fans believe the 100M world record will be 10.47 seconds, the 200M world record will be 21.2 seconds, the 400M world record will be 47.5, and the 800M world record will be 1:52.55 by the end of Track season 2024.

Track and Field 2023 is moving forward. Track and Field is creating excitement and the World is watching. Expectations are Stars will be ready and competitors will be back rejuvenated and determined to outperform their rivals. In the midst of all this excitement and anticipation, The Olympics women 100M Record Holder is seemingly inactive. Disappointment is Looming.

2023 and 2024, will be defining years for some Track and Field stars. Careers will end or begin in these two years. Women 100M record will be 10.47 and the 200M record will be 21.2 seconds. BeyondApparent.com thinks the Olympic record holder for the 100M is most likely to accomplish that success as long as there are no hidden injuries. Fans should not be distracted by 60M Events. There is an Ocean between 60M and 100M and you had better be able to swim.

Women 400M and 800M events will be very competitive. Gabby Thomas will hunt for treasure in the 400M event. The 800M is still unsorted. With the exception of Athing Mu, there is still no indication in 2023 of anyone ready to be World Champion in the 800M event.

Jamaican Female sprinters, have unfinished business. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah (ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. They are anxious for Signature Performances. The next two years 2023 and 2024 is Prime time to run 10.47 for the Women 100M event. If 10.47 is not attained Fans will wait decades for that opportunity. Base on 2023 performances, 10.47 in the women 100M is more likely to occur in Paris than in Budapest. That record will last forever and a Day.

Absent injuries, ETH should to be a Factor in the Women 100M and 200M events in Budapest Hungary August 19, 2023. Less than Signature Performances will be a disappointment. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has work to do but nothing to be nervous about. The Spear will be burning in Budapest and will make Jamaica proud

Athletes planning to be in the Women 100M Final in Budapest with a Personal Best (PB) slower than 10.7X should skip the event. Participating in the event with a PB south of 10.7X, will make you late for Dinner, where dinner is the Gold Medal. The Women’s 100M Final in Budapest 2023 is on Track for a Time of 10.61 or better. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024.

MALE TRACK STARS NEEDED – 2023

Jamaican Male Track and Field Athletes capable of running sub 10.0 seconds for the 100M, sub 20.0 seconds for the 200M, sub 44.0 seconds for the 400M, sub 1:44 for the 800M, and sub 3:20 for the 1500M are invited to audition in Country for Track Season 2023. Be there or be square. Uniforms provided after a successful Drug Test. Hope to see you there.

The following Athletes were invited and encouraged to bring a Training Partner: Yohan Blake, Akeem BlakeAkeem Bloomfield, Oblique Seville, Jaydon Hibbert, Jaheel Hyde, Julian FORTE, and Andrew Hudson. If your name is not in the list then our scouts made a faux pas. Regardless please step forward. Many will represent Country in a Sport that undoubtedly is the original and the hardest.

Fans are calling for an end to the drought of victories and a return to performances consistent with Heritage. Fans anticipate Jamaica’s male Track and Field athletes to resume dominance at World Championship 2023 and Olympics 2024. We expect Signature Performances. We know things will get better but it is time to get to work. Fans will patiently wait and provide pens for Signature performances.

There are prospects for Jamaica’s male Track and Field. It is time for all to Big Up. Usain is not the only one who can run. Did Usain take the best track shoes home? Thank goodness, he did not take the women shoes. Usain Bolt might have been an inspiration or the equivalent of an insurance policy but Fans are looking for a few good men to inspire and motivate others.

There were great expectations that success at Common Wealth Games 2018 would carry forward to Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Fans did not realize that expectation. At Commonwealth Games 2018, the team placed 11TH out of 43 with 27 Medals in total – 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 11 Bronze. Not too shabby for an Island Nation. Fans anticipated improvement in Field events such as Long Jump, Triple Jump  Javelin, Discus, Shot Put, Hammer throw, and High Jump. Those gains did not materialize in Tokyo 2021 but they are forthcoming.

Hurdling has caught on. Jamaica’s Male Hurdlers are demonstrating what Fans expected in this Event. Hansle Parchment won Gold and Ronald Levy won Bronze in the 110M hurdles Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Jaheel Hyde has some work to do in the Men’s 400 meters hurdles but Fans think he is on the cusp of doing something special. Track and Field is hard work and Perseverance.

Omar McLeod still impress despite not making the Team for recent International campaigns. His performances boosted interest in the 110M Hurdles event. The 110M Hurdles is an event in which Jamaican Athletes should excel. It is time to get ready for World Athletic Championships – 2023. I am 100 percent behind Hurdlers. Is it possible that Omar McLeod, Hansle Parchment, and Ronald Levy could produce a 123 in the 110M hurdles? Fans think it is possible. However, there is a new person on the Team – Rasheed Broadbell. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024.

SIGNATURE PERFORMANCES 2023 AND 2024

In 2023 and 2024, Fans anticipate Signature performances in the women 100M, 200M, 400M, and 800M. Stars and competitive Athletes are planning to surprise. They are planning to deliver an extravaganza of performances to cap the era 2016 – 2024. Fans will be delighted, always remembering where they were when the 100M world record became 10.47 seconds, the 200M world record became 21.2 seconds, the 400M world record became 47.5, and the 800M world record became 1:52.55.

Women 400M and 800M events will be very competitive. Gabby Thomas will hunt for treasure in the 400M event. The 800M is still unsorted. With the exception of Athing Mu, there is no indication in 2023 of anyone ready to be World Champion in the 800M event

2023 promises to be a rebuilding Year for Male Jamaican sprinters. Jamaican Female sprinters, particularly Stars have unfinished business. The Philippines Track and Field competition continues with enthusiasm and optimism. Sources believe that participation and performance in the female camp will rival the spirit of Jamaican Athletes. It will take time to duplicate times, distances, and heights but they are moving forward.

Philippines Athletes are making efforts to improve their skills in Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump. They are exhibiting performances consistent with an “I can do” attitude. Once competitively successful in International meetings, confidence will set in making the sky the limit. Future SEA Games will be preparation for Olympic competition.

Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming programs appear to be well on the way to producing Stars in the near future. Current Athletes in these disciplines are not yet Household names but avid Fans think that like Hidilyn Diaz and EJ OBIENA, some will attain prominence soon.

In Boxing, Female and Male Kababayans are stepping in the Ring fearless and throwing barrage of punches. They are competing in a manner the equivalent of “I am Pilipino and here to win”. Eumir Marcial is a promising Boxer who should have a successful Professional career. The “young uns” are maintaining the Legacy.

Weightlifting is now a prominent sport. Weightlifters are encouraged by the performances of Hidilyn Diaz in SEA Games – 2022. Pinoys expect their good fortunes to continue. Fans expect the Team to be competitive on the International stage.

In Gymnastics, Carlos Yulo should maintain his form. The Philippines Athletes are progressively working on their talents. The Women’s Gymnastics Team is competitive. Fans sense a Pride of the Philippines among them, or a Burning Spear somewhere.  The mettle of Philippines Women Athletes will be obvious in Olympics 2024

Swimming is frontline event for the Filipino Team. Kababayans are always striving to be as good as Americans are in the Pool. CHLOE ISLETA is leading the effort. Hidilyn Diaz encourages another First in an event. Chloe Isleta embraces the challenge and look forward to Olympics 2024. There is no doubt that Filipinos would like to be as good as Jamaicans are on the Track.

Pole Vault in the Philippines is getting attention. E J Obiena and Natalie Uy are creating excitement. Natalie Uy is someone to follow. Fans of E J Obiena see him as a high prospect for a Medal in the Pole Vault Olympics 2024. It is likely that he will win the Gold Medal at Olympics 2024. He did not win the Gold Medal at WAC – 2022 but he performed at a high Level and won the Bronze.

SEA Games 2022 produced encouraging performances. The Women 200M Final performance was impressive. Performances overall were encouraging spiritually but physically there is significant work required. All Athletes are back in constructive Training and preparation for WAC – 2023 and Olympics 2024. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024.

EXPECTATIONS TRACK AND FIELD – 2023

Track and Field 2023 has officially begun. Expectations are the Stars will be ready but many competitors will be back rejuvenated and determined to unseat or outperform their rivals

HAPPY HOLIDAYS – JAM AND PH ATHLETES

Beyond Christmas and a New Year is Track and Field Season – 2023. The Holidays is the calm before the competition begins. 2023 promises to be a rebuilding Year for Male Jamaican sprinters. Jamaican Female sprinters, particularly the Stars have unfinished business. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah(ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. Between 2023 and 2024 is the time to run 10.47 for the 100M event. If a time of 10.47 is not accomplished Fans will wait for decades for that opportunity. If she runs 10.47 for the 100M in Budapest or Paris, that record will last forever and a Day.

ETH is planning to destroy the competition 2023 and 2024 in a demonstrative way. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-HerahShelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 did not materialize but 2023  promises a different result.

(ETH) PRESUMED CHAMPIONSHIP PLAN 2023 – 2024

Rise and shine break is over. Track and Field Season – 2023 is here. Awake from your sleepless slumber. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah (ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. Now is the time to run 10.47 for the 100M event. Pens filled with ink waiting to sign-off on Performances, confirming her return to the throne of Women sprinting. She is one of two members in the EXCLUSIVE 10.6X Club for the 100M event.

Where does ETH go from a less than perfect season in 2022? She is planning to destroy the competition in a demonstrative way. She was not ready for the 100M and 200M at WAC – 2022. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 lacked the Neck and Neck drama. Regardless the race was competitive

Absent injuries, ETH will to be a Factor in the Women 100M and 200M events in Budapest Hungary August 19, 2023. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has work to do but nothing to be nervous about. The Spear will be burning in Budapest and will make Jamaica proud.

Despite the Dishonoring at recent Award Celebrations, Fans believe Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH), back-to-back 2016 and 2021 double Olympic Champion with an Olympic record in the 100M, and awarded Female Athlete of the Year in 2021, has more significant and longer lasting accomplishments. If she runs 10.47 for the 100M in Budapest or Paris, that record will last forever.

Moving forward it will be difficult to make Jamaica Olympic Team as a member of the 100M or 4 X 100M squad. 10.6X in the Women 100M event is the formula to win. The Tail Gate Party continues.

EXPECTATIONS OF PHILIPPINES ATHLETICS BEYOND – 2022

Filipino athleticism is more pronounced in Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming. Traditional Track and Field competition and performance could benefit from some improvement. Perhaps, Filipino Athletic Leadership should consider a Foreigner to participate in the Training of the Track and Field squad. Nothing-ventured nothing gain – what do you have to lose. A foreigner might be the catalyst needed to develop a new stock of Filipino Track and Field Athletes.

Now is the time to display a new caliber of Track and Field Athletes. Athletes who will do more than dominate the SEA Games but capable of competing at a high level in the Olympics and other International Track and Field competitions. Such attainment would bring attention to the Philippines Track and Field program now and beyond Olympics 2024.

Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming programs appear to be well on the way to producing Stars in the near future. While current Athletes in these disciplines are not yet Household names, avid Fans think that just like Hidilyn Diaz and EJ OBIENA, some will attain prominence soon.

In Olympic Level Boxing, Female and Male Kababayans are stepping in the Ring fearless and throwing barrage of punches. They are competing in a manner the equivalent of “I am Pilipino and here to win”. Eumir Marcial is a promising Boxer who should have a successful Professional career. The “young uns” are maintaining the Legacy.

Weightlifting is now a prominent event. Weightlifters are encouraged by the performances of Hidilyn Diaz in SEA Games – 2022. Pinoys expect their good fortunes to continue. Fans expect the Team to be competitive on the International stage.

Track and Field is lagging and might need some assistance from outside Country with respect to Times and Heights for the respective events.

TAKE AWAY FROM DIAMOND LEAGUE – 2022

Diamond League season – 2022 is over and in some instances “mercifully”. Clearly, some Stars did not perform at expectations or sustained injuries that affected performance. There were Stars not ready to perform well or losing Velocity. 2022 was a Year in which one competitor said, “I did not come to compete, I came to win”. Fans like that kind of confidence in an Athlete, it means she came into the Season with “Fire in the Belly”. Base on observation, Fans might have to reset expectations for Olympics 2024. While Fans are not ignoring WAC – 2023, they find the Olympics historically more significant and most likely where the Women’s 100M world record of 10.49 will be broken. I anticipate the winning time and new record to be 10.47.

Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce had a Great Season. Fans believe 2022 was the Pinnacle of her Career. However, Fans cannot imagine her running 10.54 or faster for the 100M. Fans believe Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH), back-to-back 2016 and 2021 Olympic victories with an Olympic record in the 100M, is more significant and longer lasting.

Fans still think Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH), can run 10.47 for the 100M. She just needs to regain focus. Shericka Jackson had a phenomenal season but until she runs a 10.47 100M and or destroy the Olympic Record of 10.61; she is not likely to be the next World Record holder in the event. Yes, we “want to” be starting something.

Where does ETH go from a less than perfect season in 2022? She was not ready for the 100M and 200M at WAC – 2022. The times required to win the featured Women events – 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 400M Hurdles, and 100M Hurdles were faster than recorded in the National Trials. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 lacked the Neck and Neck drama. Regardless the race was competitive

The sweep in the Women’s 100M occurred during WAC 2022, July 15 to July 24 but many dreamt of a 1234 finish with Kemba Nelson joining the Party. Shericka Jackson made progress with her Speed but given her running style she seem incapable of getting to the 100M mark before 10.7X seconds as was demonstrated at the Jamaica National Trials and WAC 100M Final. Undoubtedly, Shericka Jackson has figured out the “formula “to win the 200M.

In the off-season Athletes will have to develop a two-year plan, 2023 – 2024. Plan should include what is working and what is not. Do more of what is working and abandon what is not. All Athletes, base on performances in 2022, should be reviewing Weight Training. Lifting weights produce power but too much weight and improper technique will jeopardize speed and in some cases cause long term or permanent damage. Sprinting requires power but a damaged shoulder or back will affect speed. An Athlete cannot win the 100M without Speed in the first 30 meters. No speed no Dinner, where dinner is the Gold Medal.

There is Excitement and Entertainment in Track and Field. Going forward in the 100M and 200M events, Stars will have no time to keep anything in Reserve, they will leave it all on the Track. Stars will let competitors listen for the Gun and watch the Feet. The moment a competitor’s feet is off Blocks, Stars will BOOGIE. Stars should remember to treat competitors with respect. The competitive conduct in Track is “Good morning”, “Good afternoon”, and “Good Night” – Meet me at the Tape. The Tail Gate Party continues all the way to Olympics 2024.

TAKE AWAY FROM WAC – 2022

Clearly, some Stars did not take WAC – 2022 seriously. Quite candidly, most Fans find the Olympics more significant. As one look around at the performances, there were Stars not ready to perform well or slowing down. That prompted one competitor to say, “I did not come to compete, I came to win”. Fans like that kind of spunk in an Athlete, it means she came with “Fire in the Belly”. Base on observation, Fans might have to reset expectations for Olympics 2024.

Fans were disappointed that Kemba Nelson did not make the 100M finals but the experience will motivate her. There is a cloud hanging over the performances in the Women’s 100M and 200M. Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH) was not ready. Her training regiment might be flawed. Too much weight lifting makes you slow. It is also possible that there are undisclosed injuries or concerns. Fans are concerned that there is a bit of regression in ETH performance. We fans like our Star but will speak up. In summary, it was more a case of ETH losing and not necessarily Shelly winning.

Fact is 10.67 is impressive but Fans would be indulging in complacency or mediocrity if they get excited. Until Shelly shows us 10.54 for the 100M, Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH) is the Fastest Woman Alive but it does not mean she will win every contest. ETH has a lot of work to do to run 10.47 for the Women’s 100M. Fans will take 10.47 anywhere, at WAC 2023 or Olympics 2024.

Acute Fans see bad blood in the interaction between Elaine and Shelly. 10.67 for the 100M will not upstage Elaine. Both Elaine and Shelly have outstanding careers but fans that have participated in Track and Field, believe ETH back to back and Olympic record is heavier and longer lasting. As far as Fans know, the World Record (WR) for the event is 10.49, set in 1988. Therefore, Fans are not certain why 10.67 were presented as a championship record. Is someone about to take 10.49 off the Books?

Not so fast, Fans still think Elaine Thompson-Herah can do 10.47 for the 100M. She just needs to regain focus. MVP is trying to embarrass Elaine Thompson-Herah via Jako Jackson. I am sorry that Shericka Jackson is caught in the middle but until she run a 10.47 100M and or destroy the Olympic Record of 10.61, nothing doing. Yes, we “want to” be starting something.

Where does ETH go from here? She was not ready for 100M and 200M. The times required to win the featured Women events – 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 400M Hurdles, and 100M Hurdles were faster than you saw at the National Trials. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson did not materialize.

Elaine Thompson-Herah was not at her best during WAC 2022, July 15 to July 24. The sweep in the Women’s 100M occurred but many dreamt of a 1234 finish with Kemba Nelson joining the Party. Shericka Jackson is making progress with her Speed but given her run pattern she cannot get to 100M before 10.7X seconds as was demonstrated at the Jamaica National Trials and WAC 100M Final.

Track and Field is back.
