2025 could be the year of “GREAT RESET” in men sprinting for Jamaica. Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, Akeem Blake, Nishion Ebanks, and Bryan Levell, will compete to develop a “Big 3” in men sprinting. At this juncture, Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, and Akeem Blake are odds on favorite to get the Top Three (3) spots and produce a 1,2,3 result at World Athletics Championships (WAC) in September. Athletes are reminded to check Qualifying standards.

Kishane Thompson should exit participation in the 60m competition. There is nothing to be gained and he could get injured. MVP Track club would be well advised to encourage Kishane Thompson to focus on the 100m.
Fans think Kishane Thompson will run a time of 9.69 seconds for the 100m in 2025. Akeem Blake should produce a time of 9.80 seconds and Oblique Seville a time of 9.84 seconds. It does not appear that Kishane, Akeem, or Oblique are interested in competing in the 200m. That is unfortunate because traditionally sprinters also ran the 200m. As the season move forward we will determine if Nishion Ebanks can run the 200m well.

Nishion Ebanks ran an impressive 60m at the Central Hurdles Meet in a Race that Kishane Thompson won in a magnificent time of 6.48 seconds. However, it is still too early to project Nishion Ebanks true abilities. Nishion has a good chance of making the 4X100m Relay Team or be a replacement should there be an injury.

Bryan Levell is missing in action. Regardless 60m and 100m are not events in which he is expected to do well. Fans eagerly await his performances in the 200m. We believe that Bryan Levell might be able to run the 200m in about 19.72 seconds and the 100m in 9.94 seconds. My recollection is that Bryan Levell still needs to reconcile his mental approach to running the 200m event. When Bryan Levell is convinced that the 200m event is won in the first 100m he will be a much better competitor.

This group of Athletes, Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, and Akeem Blake has potential to develop into a “Big 3 Men” sprinting force. They will start slowly in 2025 and blossom into a dominant force by WAC 2025. All three men will need to revert to basics and reconstruct all phases of their 100m performance. Perish the thought of slow start, late Transition, and winning from behind. That approach is the recipe for 4th Place and agony of defeat in the 100m. There is no Dinner at the end of that path. For WAC 2025 Athletes need to bring their A-Game. There has never been a better time for a resurgence of Jamaica Male sprinting dominance. Fans are pleading for this eventuality.

“Big 3 Women” roster is still under re-construction. Tia Clayton is energized and roaring to go in 2025. Her sights are set on WAC 2025 and any day now she will run a 10.7X for the 100m. Fans eagerly anticipate Tia Clayton to challenge for a spot on the “Big 3” roster. Even if she fails to get a sold spot in 2025, we believe she will before Olympics 2028. Fans anxiously await information regarding Health status of the current “Big 3” – Elaine Thompson – Herah, Shelley Ann Fraser – Pryce, and Shericka Jackson. WAC is preparing Dinner to be served in September. Mirror on the wall which Athlete will be the hungriest of them all.

There are prospects for Jamaica’s male Track and Field. It is time for all to Big Up. Usain is not the only one who can run. Did Usain take the best track shoes home? Thank goodness, he did not take the women shoes. Usain Bolt might have been an inspiration or the equivalent of an insurance policy but Fans are looking for a few good men to inspire and motivate others.

There were great expectations that success at Common Wealth Games 2018 would carry forward to Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Fans did not realize that expectation. At Commonwealth Games 2018, the team placed 11TH out of 43 with 27 Medals in total – 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 11 Bronze. Not too shabby for an Island Nation. Fans anticipated improvement in Field events such as Long Jump, Triple JumpJavelin, Discus, Shot Put, Hammer throw, and High Jump. Those gains did not materialize in Tokyo 2021 but they are forthcoming.

Hurdling has caught on. Jamaica’s Male Hurdlers are demonstrating what Fans expected in this Event. Hansle Parchment won Gold and Ronald Levy won Bronze in the 110M hurdles Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Jaheel Hyde has some work to do in the Men’s 400 meters hurdles but Fans think he is on the cusp of doing something special. Track and Field is hard work and Perseverance.

Omar McLeod still impress despite not making the Team for recent International campaigns. His performances boosted interest in the 110M Hurdles event. The 110M Hurdles is an event in which Jamaican Athletes should excel. It is time to get ready for World Athletic Championships – 2023. I am 100 percent behind Hurdlers. Is it possible that Omar McLeod, Hansle Parchment, and Ronald Levy could produce a 123 in the 110M hurdles? Fans think it is possible. However, there is a new person on the Team – Rasheed Broadbell. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024.
