Akeem Bloomfield has talent but his style can be re-engineered. He appears a bit tight in the arms and shoulder when he performs. He could benefit from developing a relax look in Training. A more relax Akeem Bloomfield should run faster times in the 200M and 400M. Akeem Bloomfield should come back with Athletic vengeance and attempt to give Fans performances of 19.4 and 43.4 in the 200M and 400M respectively. Fans are not keen on his ability to perform well in the 100M on the World stage but he could surprise us. Fans think he is better suited for the 200M and 400M events.

Elaine Thompson – Herah (ETH), presumably has two new Coaches, Derron Herah, and Bert Cameron. Who are they, what is their Track and Field experience? Can they train an exceptional female athlete? Derron Herah has some Track and Field experience but not a Star or Household name. Bert Cameron was successful in his own right as a 400M talent. Athletes who were not Household Names are often good Coaches. Therefore, Fans will step out on the Limb and anticipate a successful campaign for both men. The first opportunity to Grade will be at World Athletic Championships 2022.

Even if Elaine, Shelly, and Shericka have a slow start to the season, nothing to be nervous about they will hit their stride by April in time to search for Easter Eggs. The psychological preparation begins in the month of May, speed will be on display in June, and Athleticism will be ready for Prime Time in July.

Fans anticipate Shericka Jackson will join the 100M 10.6X club. A review of Olympics 2021 and Prefontaine Classic 2021 show Shericka Jackson closing fast at the end of each race. This is confirmation that Shericka Jackson is making progress with her Speed. There is work required on her start. Some athletes could have a career-challenging year in 2022. For example if Shacari Richardson finds it difficult to beat 123, she may not participate in World Athletic Championships – 2022. Will Christine Mboma get faster and allowed to compete in the 400M? Will Gabby Thomas decide to compete in the 100M? Fans of Gabrielle Thomas are not keen on her ability to be a Star in the 100M. Redo:Natoya Goule is a Fan favorite. She has a chance to redo her attempt to deliver victory. Despite a disappointing performance in Tokyo, she is still highly regarded in the 800M event. While she did not make the Podium in Tokyo, Fans believe she has a Championship run in her. It could well be in the 800M Final at World Athletic Championships – 2022.
Goule should be ready to win the 800M at World Athletic Championships – 2022. It is refreshing to see an athlete step away and establish a new frontier. She is a Burning Spear. She will be a force to reckon with. Her mission is to stay away from the Lead, and maintain striking distance until the last 100M. Will she accept the mission? Your guess is as good as her Fans.

Olympics 2021 and Prefontaine Classic 2021 is History. Up next of significance is World Athletic Championships – 2022. Jamaica’s Male Track and Field Athletes had a disappointing year in 2021. Thankfully the hurdlers were running. However, we need a Team. We need some Male athletes in the 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, and 1500M events. Fans believe there are already qualified candidates for the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, and Shot Put. The question is those prospects still actively pursuing an Athletic Career. In the search for Stars, remember the High Jump and Relays.
Jamaica’s male Track and Field athletes are having a drought but the Track Man is anticipating Rain for World Championship 2022 and torrential Rain for Olympics 2024. Rain in this context is indicative of Signature Performances. Cheers to you, Red Stripe beer, and Dragon Stout. Things will get better but it is time to get to work. Fans will patiently wait and provide pens for Signature performances.

Where are the prospects for Jamaica’s male Track and Field? It is time for all to Big Up. Usain is not the only one who can run. Did Usain take the best track shoes home? Thank goodness, he did not take the women shoes. It cannot be that because Usain Bolt no longer runs others wont. Usain Bolt might have been an inspiration or the equivalent of an insurance policy but Fans are looking for a few good men to inspire and motivate others.
There were great expectations that success at Common Wealth Games 2018 would carry forward to Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Fans did not realize that expectation in Tokyo 2021. At Commonwealth Games 2018, the team placed 11TH out of 43 with 27 Medals in total – 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 11 Bronze. Not too shabby for an Island Nation. Fans anticipated improvement in Field events such as Long Jump, Triple JumpJavelin, Discus, Shot Put, Hammer throw, and High Jump. Fedrick Dacres and Traves Smikle won gold and silver respectively for Jamaica in the men’s discus. Those gains did not materialize in Tokyo 2021 but they are forthcoming.

Hurdling has caught on. In general, Jamaica’s Male Hurdlers are demonstrating what Fans expected in this Event. Hansle Parchment won Gold and Ronald Levy won Bronze in the 110M hurdles Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Jaheel Hyde has some work to do in the Men’s 400 meters hurdles but he can (Jama I can) do it. Nathon Allen and Yohan Blake should consider Retirement. There is only so much continuous running in the legs of a Professional sprinter. Both Men should try out for World Athletic Championships – 2022, end a Career, and move forward to a New Frontier. Below special reference and respect to some veteran Athletes.

Omar McLeod still impress despite not making the Team for Olympics 2020. Fans not sure what happened in the Jamaica Olympic Trials, probably overconfidence. His performances created interest in the 110M Hurdles event. The 110M Hurdles is an event in which Jamaican Athletes can excel. Until Omar is defeated at the Olympics or retires, he owns that event. He was the first from Jamaica to win the event on that stage. For now, let him enjoy the fame and fortune. It is time to get ready for World Athletic Championships – 2022. I am 100 percent behind him and support his consideration of the 400M Hurdles. Is it possible that Omar McLeod, Hansle Parchment, and Ronald Levy could produce a 123 in the 110M hurdles? Fans think it is possible.

Times are changing. Athletes are relocating or changing Camps and affiliation. Perhaps, Athletes should change coaches every Eight (8) years or after two (2) Olympic Cycles. This will give Athletic Pundits additional material to write. Arguably, 2016 – 2024 will be the Era of Elaine Thompson – Herah. Despite taking a presumed Sabbatical in 2017 – 2020, one cannot refute her Dominance in the Women 100M and 200M events and the difference she makes on a 4 X100M RelaySquad.
Olympics 2021 and Prefontaine Classic 2021 is History. Up next of significance is World Athletic Championships – 2022. Fans envision another 123 in the Women 100M event. If the Cast of characters is the same and Elaine, Shelly, and Shericka are healthy, then it is possible. World Athletic Championships could be considered a redundancy but it is good for the Sport of Track and Field. Monetarily, it is good for Athletes of the Caliber we saw in Tokyo Olympics 2021. Fans will enjoy seeing another 123 performance and greedy enough to request repeats, the equivalent of refills at the Soda Fountain.

World Athletic Championships – 2022 should be entertaining. There is a possibility that Elaine Thompson – Herah will run 10.47 and 21.2 for the 100M and 200M respectively. Olympics 2024 should be exciting. The French Athletes will bring their best Game but not likely to be as good as this 400M Performance. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah yearn for Signature Performances at the Paris Olympics – 2024. Gauntlet down, Fans anticipate 10.47 for the 100M and 21.2 for the 200M or better. The Spear should burn in Paris. Should the gods of Athletic Health smile, Elaine Thompson – Herah, will perform at an extremely high level and make Jamaica proud. Women 100M event at the Prefontaine classic 2021 saw another Signature Performance by Elaine Thompson-Herah. Frankly, if the Women 100M was the only event at Prefontaine classic 2021, Fans would have been satisfied.
What in tarnation was Shacari Richardson doing? Any High School Athlete could have produced that fake performance. Those of us who have personal reference to Track and Field know that Shacari Richardson mailed it in. If there is any sport you should not hype, it is Track and Field. Exaggerating capability in track and field will embarrass an athlete. Especially, if said athlete embellished in the façade. Thanks to Teahna Daniels for putting up a fight.

Fact is the Tokyo 100M podium is so much better than shacari Richardson. Overall, Elaine, Shelly, and Shericka will continue to have her number. How many people saw Shelly smiling over the shoulder of Shacari Richardson during her interview? Priceless. Elaine, Shelly, and Shericka should take a break for the rest of the year unless they have contractual obligations.

There is no holding back or keeping anything in Reserve when running the 100M and 200M. Leave it all on the Track. At the start, let your opponents listen for the Gun, you watch the Feet. The moment Opponents lead Foot off Blocks, you BOOGIE. If in the 100M, First 4 Steps “Good morning”, next 4 Steps “Good afternoon”, next 4 Steps “Good Night”. Post Olympics, there were sore losers. Animus was abounding among presumed “Sport Fans” from various Countries towards Jamaican Athletes. Some refuse to acknowledge a stellar performance, with the undertone of – there goes those damn Jamaicans again. However, Takeaway from such negative sentiments is that people are not Anti- Jamaicans but rather hate success.

It does not matter if you believe, as long as she does. She has the Power and is gradually working on Speed. However, she has to forget about running 400M style.

The 100M and 200M events are completely different from the 400M. Shericka Jackson, needs to make that adjustment and quickly. There is no winning coming from behind in the 100M and 200M, unless you are Usain Bolt and were slow getting out of the Blocks. In the 100M and 200M, there is a 99.99 percent chance, that if you are late out of the Blocks you will be late for Dinner. Dinner is the Gold Medal.

Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah are waiting for a signature Performance to confirm her acceptance to the 10.6X Club. Her performance in the 2021 Olympic Trials was impressive. She will be a contender in Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Her performance in Rio 2016 was exceptional. She is one of the few Female athletes who can run the 100M in less than 11.00 seconds and has proven that she can run the 200M in less than 22.00 seconds. She will perform well in Olympics 2021. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has an excellent chance of being on the Podium.
Absent injuries, she will to be a Factor in the Women 100M and 200M events in Tokyo. Her performances in the Jamaica National Championships were competitive and I anticipate improvement. The Jamaica National Championships – 2021, except for the Women 200M and 400M Finals, did not produce Times and Performances anticipated. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has some work to do but nothing to be nervous about. The Spear is burning in Tokyo.

If you are a Female Track and Field Athlete intending to be in the 100M Finals in Tokyo and your Personal Best (PB) is slower than 10.8, STAY HOME or skip the event. It will be more difficult in 2024. In 2024, expectations are the winning time in the Women’s 100M Final will be 10.5.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a Vanguard for Jamaican Female Track and Field. Wish her well in Tokyo 2021. We thought she would retire after Olympics 2016 but was incorrect. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is back. She came, she saw, and conquered. She performed victoriously, hugged competitors, shook hands, and prepares for more challenges. Despite apparent dominance, she remains respectful and conducts herself as Class Citizen of the International Olympic Community.
In 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2017 we saw the best athletes on the planet participate in three Olympics and three World Championships. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce performed at an extremely high level, displaying her talent and making Jamaica proud. Team Jamaica Track and Field landscape is poised for a changing of the Guard, after Olympics 2021.
Moving forward it will be difficult to make it to the Olympics representing Jamaica in the 100M event – Female and Male. The Era of Speed Merchants is well on the way. Men and Women who can run fast will migrate and some will change Nationality in pursuit of their Sprint dream. They will become Track and Field Mercenaries.

Natoya Goule is a star. She will be a force to reckon with in Japan. She has improved her display of confidence at the start Line and now wave with exuberance. Despite finishing sixth in Doha 2019, she continues to improve her performance in the 800 Meters. Goule will be ready to win at Olympics 2021. She will make more VLOGS after the Olympics. It is refreshing to see an athlete step away and establish a new frontier. She is a Burning Spear and has my vote for flag bearer in the opening ceremony. Below are things that Natoya Goule can do to ensure victory.
Think of the Records for the event and aim for the fastest time. World time is 1:53:28. Olympics is 1:53:43.
The following Splits are recommended, First 100M – Next 600M – Next 50M – Final 50M. Do not run in the Pack. Do not engage in a Jog in the park. Run the Race, get into the heads of the competitors, and run the splits. Mentally and physically, practice the splits. Get to the point where there is no thinking, just running.
First 100M establish Momentum
Next 600M maintain Momentum, follow the leader, and always stay in striking distance of the Leader but at her Pace. If the Lead changes, follow that leader. If the Pace is too slow, go by and stay at her Pace (one she has proven she can maintain during Training). Do not Jockey for the lead it will ruin Stamina.
Only exert enough energy to maintain Momentum. The mission is to win and break the Record if she can.
Next 50M (100M to the Finish Line) get ready to sprint. This is like a running start in Relays but longer. Ask a member of the 4 x 100 Relay team to work with her on that in Training. Be serious it will make a difference.
Final 50M run as fast as she can to the Finish. Leave it all on the Track. Focus on the Finish Line. The only Race she is running is the current. Past and future races are of no concern. This is where work on Sprinting will help.
In Training and Competition Imagine, she is in the Olympics 2021 800M Final. See herself winning the ultimate Prize.
Develop that strategy and run every Race accordingly. Tweak it a little where necessary.
COVID-19 caused the rescheduling of Olympics 2020 but Athletics is essential. Sports Fans look forward to seeing Olympic caliber Athletes perform, especially those who compete in Track and Field including the Marathon. There are many things happening in the world, from the Caribbean to South China Sea but now is the time to support and encourage all Athletes preparing to perform in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Olympics 2021 is schedule for July 23 to August 8 2021. There are Geo-Political issues in the Region that could have an impact on the event but conditions not expected to deteriorate significantly, before September 2021.
