JULY EXPECTATIONS – TRACK 2025

Greetings. “The Big One” knows, no Leaning while running, no over stride. To be in control of a high power vehicle; he must be upright and balanced.

Grand Slam Track (GST) in Kingston, Miami, and Philadelphia was a success. Clearly Per Capita income and Lifestyles were not addressed before the events. Arrangements to give excess Bleacher seats to schools and charity organizations were not made.  Arrangements will be needed at all future GST venues. It will be easier to sell concession stand items than fill seats.

The cancellation of GST LA is disturbing. Will the Los Angeles venue continue to be a problem? I hope the authorities resolve this matter before Olympics 2028. Recent Reports regarding GST is a Scam and sounds more like a political presentation. Michael Johnson and his Team is well advised to step back pay the Athletes owed then review the Financial Plan.

Fans will support Kingston as a Location each year for GST but not as the lead month. In men sprinting for Jamaica. Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, Akeem Blake, Nishion Ebanks, Rohan Watson and Bryan Levell, should figure prominent in competitions to develop a “Big 3” in men sprinting. At this juncture, Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, and Akeem Blake are odds on favorite to get the Top Three (3) spots and produce a 1,2,3 result at World Athletics Championships (WAC) in September. Athletes are reminded to check Qualifying standards.

Oblique Seville still has to check in at the Inquiry Lounge. It appears that Oblique Seville is still working on his approach to winning the 100m, absent his staring and finger pointing.

Grand Slam Track (GST) will enhance the sport. Recent Reports regarding GST is a Scam and designed to discourage and attempt to ruin confidence. Some Athletes will experience Increase in Income. Track and Field is the oldest Sport and is not going anywhere anytime soon. Every Sport has a Track or Field component.

2027 could see the birth of Grand Slam Field (GSF) or something similar. There is room for creativity. Such an arena could result in showcasing the Javelin event. GSF would allow for a peeling back of the Layers on the Onion associated with this competitive event. Opening and studying Javelin at this level will produce another Star or Legend in the event.

Fans believe Kishane Thompson will run a time of 9.69 seconds for the 100m in 2025. Akeem Blake should produce a time of 9.80 seconds and Oblique Seville a time of 9.84 seconds. It does not appear that Kishane, Akeem, or Oblique are interested in competing in the 200m. That is unfortunate because traditionally sprinters also ran the 200m. As the season move forward we will determine if Nishion Ebanks can run the 200m well.

Nishion Ebanks ran an impressive 60m at the Central Hurdles Meet in a Race that Kishane Thompson won in a magnificent time of 6.48 seconds. However, it is still too early to project Nishion Ebanks true abilities. Nishion has a good chance of making the 4X100m Relay Team or be a replacement should there be an injury. Many questions regarding comparisons between Kishane, Akeem, and Oblique will be answered this month. There is lots of talk about athletes not having time to participate in the 4X100m Relay. If that is True, who won the Four Medals and in which event – 2024.

Bryan Levell received the memo and is back in action for the 2025 Season.  Regardless 60m and 100m are not events in which he is expected to do well. Fans will await his performances in the 200m. We believe that Bryan Levell might be able to run the 200m in about 19.72 seconds and the 100m in 9.94 seconds. Bryan Levell still needs to reconcile his mental approach to running the 200m event. When Bryan Levell is convinced that the 200m event is won in the first 100m he will be a much better competitor.

This group of Athletes, Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, and Akeem Blake has potential to develop into a “Big 3 Men” sprinting force. They will start slowly in 2025 and blossom into a dominant force by WAC 2025. All three men will need to revert to basics and reconstruct all phases of their 100m performance. Perish the thought of slow start, late Transition, and winning from behind. That approach is the recipe for 4th Place and agony of defeat in the 100m. There is no Dinner at the end of that path. For WAC 2025 Athletes need to bring their A-Game. There has never been a better time for a resurgence of Jamaica Male sprinting dominance. Fans are pleading for this eventuality.

Julien Alfred might be considering a Double of 200m and 400m, participation this Season. Unfortunately that might not be her best option. Julien, is quietly creating a Saint Lucia Track Team. As soon as a Relay team of Athletes is assembled Saint Lucia will be ready. Gabby Thomas ascended to the Women’s 200m throne but appears to have less option. Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone took her Crown as the 400mH Olympic champion. She could have issues with competition in the 400m Flat.

There will be exciting times in women competition. Nickisha Pryce , Ackera Nugent, Danielle Williams, Marielady Paulino, Salwa Eid Naser, Jasmine Comacho Quinn, and Masai Russell will have something to say about the 2025 Season.

“Big 3 Women” roster is still under re-construction. Tia Clayton is energized and roaring to go in 2025. Her sights are set on WAC 2025 and she will run a 10.7X for the 100m. Fans eagerly anticipate Tia Clayton to challenge for a spot on the “Big 3” roster.  Even if she fails to get a sold spot in 2025, we believe she will before Olympics 2028. WAC is preparing Dinner to be served in September. Mirror on the wall which Athlete will be the hungriest of them all.

Stars know that getting home for Dinner quickly is the key to securing a Gold Medal. The Tail Gate Party continues

APRIL EXPECTATIONS – TRACK 2025

2025 could be the year of “GREAT RESET” in men sprinting for Jamaica. GREAT RESET – TRACK 2025

2025 could be the year of “GREAT RESET” in men sprinting for Jamaica. Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, Akeem Blake, Nishion Ebanks, and Bryan Levell, will compete to develop a “Big 3” in men sprinting. At this juncture, Kishane Thompson, Oblique Seville, and Akeem Blake are odds on favorite to get the Top Three (3) spots and produce a 1,2,3 result at World Athletics Championships (WAC) in September. Athletes are reminded to check Qualifying standards.

Kishane Thompson should exit participation in the 60m competition. There is nothing to be gained and he could get injured.  MVP Track club would be well advised to encourage Kishane Thompson to focus on the 100m.

Fans think Kishane Thompson will run a time of 9.69 seconds for the 100m in 2025. Akeem Blake should produce a time of 9.80 seconds and Oblique Seville a time of 9.84 seconds. FIRST QUARTER – 2025 TRACK EXPECTATIONS

Kishane Thompson will be vying for Male Athlete of the year in 2025. It will be interesting to witness his performance at World Athletics Championships in Japan September 2025. All things considered Fans expect him to be invited to Grand Slam Track (GST) in April. With respect to Training for 2025, Kishane Thompson needs to work on all Phases of his race and stop looking around for competitors during the Performance. He should adopt the Mantra – Good Morning, Good afternoon, and Good Night. Meet me at the Tape. Fans speculate that Kishane Thompson will run a time of 9.69 sec for the 100m in 2025.

Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley will challenge each other in the 100m competitions in 2025. Kenny Bednarek “Kung Fu Kenny” and Bryan Levell will be prominent in the 200m. It remains to be seen if Letsile Tebogo will maintain form.

With the addition of Grand Slam Track, Season – 2025 is expected to be more competitive. Athletes who were not recipients of medals in 2024 are expected to atone. Kishane Thompson should be a factor in the 100m. Stars such as Julien Alfred, Nickisha Pryce, Tia Clayton, Sha’Carri Richardson, Dina Asher Smith, Elaine Thompson – Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce and Shericka Jackson are expected to have a spectacular  2025 season. Less than stellar performances will be a disappointment.

Athletes should cease negative comments regarding Grand Slam Track. Relent and move forward. Grand Slam Track (GST) will not include FIELD EVENTS. There is no need for banter.

The notion that Grand Slam Track was created to save Track and Field is false. The only Takeaway is GST will enhance the Sport. Some Athletes will experience Increase in Income. Track and Field is the oldest Sport and is not going anywhere anytime soon. Every Sport has a Track or Field component.

Track and Field was created on the premise that Humans needed Exercise. Humans had a genuine interest in Competition and interactive fun and thus provide some form of Entertainment. Every Sport was fashioned accordingly. For example Basketball was created to mimic the aforementioned reasons when outside was cold with snow or wet from rain.

Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone, is expected to be competitive in the 400m Flat but Marileidy Paulino will be a Factor and Fans anticipate Nickisha Pryce will be able to run sub 48.0 seconds for the event.

Nickisha Pryce will be favored to win most of her 400m competitions in 2025, assuming she had good Recovery after Paris – 2024. Tia Clayton should demonstrate much improvement in the 100m. Fans are unsure what to expect from Elaine Thompson – Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce and Shericka Jackson – “the Big 3” in 2025. It is possible that all three will decide to move on and live a life of Luxury. If Elaine Thompson Herah does not get her Achilles heel fixed, she will not perform at her best and will depart from the Sport

Julien Alfred (Juju) took the Paris 2024 path to becoming an Olympian. Fans did not expect her to be ready before Los Angeles 2028. With that early arrival and sacrifice behind the scene, she made St. Lucia Proud. Julien Alfred (Juju) is aware that winning can become a habit. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. If Julien looks over shoulder in 2025 and sees no Jamaican challenging, then she will have a good season. However, Fans anticipate Tia Clayton to challenge. Having said that Julien Alfred (Juju) has unfinished business in the 200m. Physically she can run the event but she has to reconcile the mental.

When the Bickering between the JAAA and JOA concludes Athletes will receive their Just rewards and resources. Inclusive in this effort should be the rebuilding of “the Big 3” – Women sprinters. It is important that we do the same for the JAAA and JOA. Something is broken let’s fix it. Independent consultation might be necessary.

Team USA is ready for every event in Season – 2025.  Even if a USA representative does not win an event, the performance will be acceptable. Moving forward the Team is very young and fans expect all members to be vying for participation in Olympics 2028 Los Angeles, California, USA.

Gabby Thomas will be challenged to find another event in which to participate. Perhaps she will try the 400mH or 400m flat in 2025. Fans are waiting to see what she chooses. As long as her choice is not the 100m or 100mH, then she will be competitive.

In Season – 2024, the Philippines team did well in gymnastics, boxing, swimming, weight lifting, and Pole vault. Fans are proud of the Kababayans. They gave a good account of themselves. Pinoys are not just competitors anymore. They intend to be a Factor and a force to reckon with. They will work on Track and Field and make their presence felt. Imagine a Kababayan running the Men’s 100m in 9.79 seconds or the Women’s 100m in 10.6X; something to ponder. EJ Obiena did not get the Gold medal in 2024 but it could happen in Los Angeles – 2028.  Fans expect improvement on 2024 performances.

GRAND SLAM TRACK – 2025

Grand Slam Track is a Novel idea. Its inclusion in the Track and Field season will improve the Sport. Current listed matchups or the equivalent should create interest and excitement.  There shouldn’t be any lingering controversy regarding Chest before Feet or vice -versa at the Finish Line. Grand Slam Track will provide additional competition and lucrative experience for Track Athletes. Hope your event made the cut.

With the addition of Grand Slam Track, Season – 2025 is expected to be more competitive. Athletes who were not recipients of medals in 2024 are expected to atone. Noah Lyles will not be the face of Track and Field in 2025. Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley will challenge him in the 100m. Kenny Bednarek “Kung Fu Kenny” and Bryan Levell will be prominent in the 200m. It remains to be seen if Letsile Tebogo will maintain form.

EJ Obiena did not get the Gold medal in 2024 but he will and it could happen in Los Angeles – 2028

EXPECTATIONS TRACK AND FIELD SEASON – 2025

Track and Field Season – 2025 is anticipated to be competitive. Athletes who were not recipients of medals in 2024 are expected to atone. Stars such as Julien Alfred, Nickisha Pryce, Tia Clayton, Sha’Carri Richardson, Dina Asher Smith, Elaine Thompson – Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce and Shericka Jackson are expected to have a good 2025 season.

Nickisha Pryce will be favored to win most of the 400m competitions in 2025, assuming she had good Recovery after Paris – 2024.

With that Olympic performance she should not have to buy Groceries in St. Lucia again. Julien Alfred (Juju) is aware that winning can become a habit. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. If Julien looks over shoulder and sees no Jamaican challenging then she will have a good season – 2025. However, Fans anticipate Tia Clayton to challenge.

Fans are disappointed that Shericka Jackson was unable to participate in Olympics 2024. Shericka Jackson inability to perform in the 100m, 200m, and the 4X100 Relay changed Hardware distribution and the aspirations of Team Mates, especially Tia Clayton.

Imagine being Tia Clayton at the Start Line of the Women’s 100m Finals in Paris. That was your introduction to the Olympics and kindred support was MIA. That is the equivalent of Baptism by Fire and your only option was to summon the COURAGE and RUN no matter the results. Since then Tia Clayton has been doing well on the Diamond League Circuit. Fans anticipate a bright future for Tia Clayton. 2025 could be the start of the “Tia Clayton era” even with Julien Alfred and Shacarri Richardson in the mix.

Jamaica takeaway from Olympics 2024 was that Team was not ready for Prime Time. Slow times and lack of enthusiasm will not get it done. The bickering between the JAAA and JOA contributed to the lack of preparation. While rebuilding “the Big 3”, it is important to do the same for the JAAA and JOA. Something is broken let’s fix it. It might help to visit Maroon country for consultation.

Meanwhile Team USA was ready for every event except the Men’s 100m. Even if a USA representative did not win an event, the performance was acceptable. Moving forward the Team is very young and fans expect all members to be vying for participation in Olympics 2028 Los Angeles, California, USA.

Noah Lyles is not the face of Track and Field in 2025. Kishane Thompson and Fred Kerley will challenge him in the 100m. Kenny Bednarek “Kung Fu Kenny” and Bryan Lavelle will be prominent in the 200m. It remains to be seen if Letsile Tebogo will maintain form.

Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone, will be competitive in the 400m Flat if she decides to do the event. Marileidy Paulino should be a Factor but Fans are anticipating that Nickisha Pryce is capable of running sub 48.0 seconds for the event.

Gabby Thomas became the Women’s 200m Champion in Paris 2024. Her next challenge will be the 400mH or 400m flat in 2025. Fans are waiting to see what event she chooses. As long as the choice is not the 100m or 100mH, fans will support her.

The Philippines team did well in gymnastics, boxing, swimming, weight lifting, and Pole vault. Fans are proud of our Kababayans. They gave a good account of themselves. Pinoys are not just competitors anymore. They intend to be a Factor and a force to reckon with. They will work on Track and Field and make their presence felt. SIDEBARS AND RELAYS – OLYMPICS 2024

If anything can go wrong it will. That should be Jamaica takeaway from Olympics 2024. It appears that Jamaica was not ready for Prime Time. Some of us saw that eventuality from the slow times and felt it from the lack of enthusiasm. The bickering between the JAAA and JOA contributed to the lack of preparation. While rebuilding “the Big 3”, it is time to do the same for the JAAA and JOA. Something is broken let’s fix it now.

Fans are disappointed that Shericka Jackson was unable to participate in Olympics 2024. From the beginning of the season it was obvious that Shericka Jackson was not FIT. Shericka Jackson inability to perform in the 100m, 200m, and the 4X100 Relay will change Hardware distribution and the aspirations of Team Mates, especially Tia Clayton.

This is tragic. With Elaine and Shericka out, and “Mommy Rocket” departing; rebuilding the Big 3 is more dire than envisioned. It’s the equivalent of saying “when trouble a come no shell no blow”. In other words, turn on the lights the party is over. However, it should be a temporary setback.

The Men’s 100m Final was a wonderful display of Acceleration and Velocity. Thank goodness Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles ran the same time. It was Kishane Thompson race to lose. What Fans are still unsure of is why Thompson was unable to separate himself from the field. Did he tighten up because of pressure or was it something else. We know he is faster than Noah Lyles but he still has to prove it.

Instructions about shutting down can confuse an Athlete. Athletes should Train and prepare to run THROUGH the Line and not run TO the Line in 100m races. This is why Fans prefer use of the Tape in 100m and 200m Races. If Tape was at the Finish Line there would be no dispute as to “who really won”. 100m Finals require Physical and Mental conditioning. Athletes should guard themselves from disappointment or the agony of defeat. Fans will accept Kishane Thompson not executing well.

The Philippines team is doing well in gymnastics, boxing, swimming, weight lifting, and Pole vault. There are many events in that mix to get multiple medals. EJ Obiena did not get the Gold medal this time but he will eventually

The events below were omitted from previous commentary regarding expectations at the Paris Olympic games of 2024. Even if it’s just a noteworthy mention the following events deserve attention.

RELAYS:

MEN’S 4X100:

This looks like an open and shut case for USA unless they drop the Baton. Fans expect Italy, Canada, and Great Britain to compete well. Fans do not see Jamaica offering much of a challenge but that’s why they run the races. USA will start with Christian Coleman and mix and match for Legs 2, 3, 4. Jamaica will start with Akeem Blake, Oblique Seville on second, and Kishane Thompson – on Anchor. The question is who runs third leg for Jamaica. Is it Bryan LeVelle? USA, Canada, and Italy should be the top 3.

WOMEN’S 4X100:

USA should win easily unless they drop the Baton. Fans expect Great Britain, and Netherlands to compete well. Fans do not see Jamaica offering much of a challenge. Canada and Italy could be factors. Top 3 should be USA, Great Britain, and Netherlands.

MEN’S 4X400:

USA should win easily unless they drop the Baton. Fans expect Great Britain, Botswana and Netherlands to compete well. Canada and Italy could be factors. Top 3 should be USA, Great Britain, and Netherlands. Top 3 should be USA, Great Britain, and Netherlands.

WOMEN’S 4X400:

USA should win easily unless they drop the Baton or falter. Fans expect Jamaica, and Netherlands to compete well. Top 3 should be USA, Netherlands, and Jamaica. Nickisha Pryce is a Factor and should Anchor. Fans believe she can beat Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone.

USA versus JAMAICA – OLYMPICS 2024

The Olympic trials are over. The dust on the Track and Field in the Philippines, USA, and Jamaica is still settling. All three groups of Athletes are in Training camps fine tuning their skills in an effort to bring their A-Game to the spectacle that is Paris 2024 Olympics

The Philippines team will focus on gymnastics, boxing, swimming, weight lifting, and Pole vault. There are many events in that mix to get multiple medals.

Paris 2024 Olympics will cover 45 Sports. There will be plenty of events to attend and numerous medals will be issued. There will be no medals for events resulting from an argument, incident, or accident. Fans are encouraged to check Pedigree at the Entrances. In essence, no violence.

USA and JAMAICA will engage in Athletic battle for Track and Field sprinting supremacy. Before Olympic Trials it appeared that USA had an edge in Sprinting. Like the Sand of an hour glass the granules are shifting and Jamaica is cautiously saying just wait a minute USA, not so fast. Let’s set the stage with lights and action.

Base on performances and team selections the following are expectations by Key events, Men and Women.

Men’s 100m – Fans see USA coming away with 2 medals but not necessarily the gold. Winning time should be about 9.65 seconds. Kishane Thompson, Noah Lyles, and Kenny Bednarek should leave with hardware. Oblique Seville could be a factor.

Women’s 100m – Fans see Julien Alfred, Shacarri Richardson, and Zoe Hobbs picking up hardware. Melissa Jefferson, Shelley Ann Fraser Pryce, and Shericka Jackson could be factors. Winning time should be about 10.70 seconds. Julien Alfred is aware that winning can become a habit. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Men’s 200m – Fans see “Kung Fu” Kenny winning. The results should include Kenny Bednarek, Noah Lyles, and Bryan Lavelle. Bryan Lavelle is a sportsman pick. If Shanieke can get Bryan Lavelle to clean up his first 100m he might surprise the world. Winning time should be about 19.43 seconds.

Women’s 200m – Fans believe Gabby Thomas, McKenzie Long, and Julien Alfred should pickup hardware. Shericka Jackson appears to be a factor but she is Human and might not bring her A-Game. You cannot run with a bad knee or heel.

Women’s 100m Hurdles – this event could be an Ackera Nugent vs. Masai Russell confrontation. These two STARS are rivals. They have competed multiple times before. This is the hardest event to pick top 3. Under duress fans will say Ackera Nugent, Masai Russell, and Danielle Williams should be top 3 and not necessarily in that order. Everyone else is a Factor. Whoever clears the 3rd hurdle first, wins the event. Winning time should be about 12.10 seconds.

Men’s 110m Hurdles – potentially a 1, 2, 3 finish for Jamaica, Rasheed Broadbell, Hansle Parchment, and Orlando Bennett. Having said that so cavalier, it might require Mr. Holloway to skip the contest. That is unlikely to happen if everyone is healthy. Suffice to say, Mr. Holloway will be a factor and a Force to reckon with. Winning time should be about 12.84 seconds.

Men’s 400m Hurdles – the Finals of this event should feature a competition between Rai Benjamin, Karsten Warholm, Dos Santos, and Kyron McMaster. The order of finish is expected to be same. Winning time is expected to be about 45.8X seconds

Women’s 400m Hurdles – expectation is Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone, Femke Bol, and Rushell Clayton is likely to be Top 3. Anna Cockerel will be a Factor. Winning time expected to be 49.8X seconds

Women’s 400m flat – this event will be competitive and exciting. Aaliyah Butler, Kendall Ellis, Alexis Holmes, MariLeidy Paulino, Nickisha Pryce, Sada Williams, Rhasidat Adeleke, and Natalia Kaczmarek will stage a battle. Nickisha Pryce will be a factor. Winning time should be about 48.4X seconds.

Men’s 400m flat – Matthew Hudson Smith, Quincy Hall, Michael Norman, Sean Bailey, Kirani James, and Steven Gardiner is expected to have strong competition in this event. Steven Gardiner will be a factor but he will have plenty of company in this contest. Winning time should be about 43.94 seconds. Antonio Watson will sit this Olympics. Fans look forward to his return in Season 2025.
