Athletes should cease negative comments regarding Grand Slam Track. Relent and move forward. Grand Slam Track (GST) will not include FIELD EVENTS. There is no need for banter.
The notion that Grand Slam Track was created to save Track and Field is false. The only Takeaway is GST will enhance the Sport. Some Athletes will experience Increase in Income. Track and Field is the oldest Sport and is not going anywhere anytime soon. Every Sport has a Track or Field component.
Track and Field was created on the premise that Humans needed Exercise. Humans had a genuine interest in Competition and interactive fun and thus provide some form of Entertainment. Every Sport was fashioned accordingly. For example Basketball was created to mimic the aforementioned reasons when outside was cold with snow or wet from rain.

Nickisha Pryce will be favored to win most of her 400m competitions in 2025, assuming she had good Recovery after Paris – 2024. Tia Clayton should demonstrate much improvement in the 100m. Fans are unsure what to expect from Elaine Thompson – Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce and Shericka Jackson – “the Big 3” in 2025. It is possible that all three will decide to move on and live a life of Luxury. If Elaine Thompson Herah does not get her Achilles heel fixed, she will not perform at her best and will depart from the Sport.

Imagine being Tia Clayton at the Start Line of the Women’s 100m Finals in Paris. That was your introduction to the Olympics and kindred support was MIA. Jamaica takeaway from Olympics 2024 was that Team was not ready for Prime Time. Slow times and lack of enthusiasm will not get it done. Track gods felt it was time for St Lucia to join the ranks of Olympic medalists. Gabby Thomas ascended to the Women’s 200m Champion. After three weeks of being trampled the Track can now breathe. Stars and competitors have departed France and back home in Recovery. Complaints about Food and substandard beds are too many to ignore but do not blame France. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is at fault. It has been awhile since France hosted an Olympics. The IOC does an Olympics every four years. The IOC should have Protocol for Food and Lodging. It appears the IOC did not advise and monitor the Production well.
Key things Olympic Athletes need are Food, Sleep, and Access to the Track and Field. Track and Field Stars are the center piece of the spectacle. Fans attend Olympics to see elite level running, jumping, and throwing. Track and Field is the number one (1) venue for the Olympics. Think of it this way; Track and Field is Gold, Swimming is Silver, and Basketball is Bronze in a contested event. Basketball fans may disagree but so sorry!!! It’s more likely that swimming was included in the foundation of the Olympic Games than basketball.

Athletes should Train and prepare to run THROUGH the Line and not run TO the Line in 100m and 200m Races. If Tape was used at the Finish Line there would be no dispute as to “who really won” the Men’s 100m Final. 100m Finals require Physical and Mental conditioning. Athletes should guard themselves from disappointment or the agony of defeat. Fans will accept Kishane Thompson failure to execute well.

Noah Lyles would like to be the face of Track and Field but I see no votes. All Stars are the face of Track and Field. If we have to nominate a singular person then survey says Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone; Ballots closed.

Julien Alfred (Juju) took the Paris 2024 path to becoming an Olympian. Fans expected her to take the Los Angeles 2028 path. With that early arrival and sacrifice behind the scene, she made St. Lucia Proud. With that Olympic performance she should not have to buy Groceries in St. Lucia. Julien Alfred (Juju) is aware that winning can become a habit. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Fans are disappointed that Shericka Jackson was unable to participate in Olympics 2024. From the beginning of the season it was obvious that Shericka Jackson was UNFIT. Shericka Jackson inability to perform in the 100m, 200m, and the 4X100 Relay changed Hardware distribution and the aspirations of Team Mates, especially Tia Clayton. Imagine being Tia Clayton at the Start Line of the Women’s 100m Finals in Paris. That is your introduction to the Olympics and kindred support is DNS. Your only option is summoning the COURAGE and RUN no matter the results. Since then Tia Clayton has been doing well on the Diamond League Circuit. Fans anticipate a bright future for Tia Clayton.

Jamaica takeaway from Olympics 2024 should be that Team was not ready for Prime Time. Slow times and lack of enthusiasm will not get it done. The bickering between the JAAA and JOA contributed to the lack of preparation. While rebuilding “the Big 3”, it is time to do the same for the JAAA and JOA. Something is broken let’s fix it.

Meanwhile Team USA was ready for every event except the Men’s 100m. Even if a USA representative did not win an event, the performance was acceptable. Moving forward the Team is very young and I expect all members to be vying for participation in Olympics 2028 Los Angeles, California, USA.

Beyond Christmas and a New Year is Track and Field Season – 2023. The Holidays is the calm before the competition begins. 2023 promises to be a rebuilding Year for Male Jamaican sprinters. Jamaican Female sprinters, particularly the Stars have unfinished business. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah(ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. Between 2023 and 2024 is the time to run 10.47 for the 100M event. If a time of 10.47 is not accomplished Fans will wait for decades for that opportunity. If she runs 10.47 for the 100M in Budapest or Paris, that record will last forever and a Day.

Meanwhile there is increasing enthusiasm for Track and Field competition in the Philippines. There is congruent participation and performance in the female camp that sources believe will rival the spirit of Jamaican Athletes. It will take time to duplicate times, distances, and heights but they are moving forward.
Philippines Athletes are making efforts to improve their Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump skills and exhibiting performance consistent with an “I can” attitude. Once competitively successful in International meetings, confidence will set in making the sky the limit. Future SEA Games will be preparation for Olympic competition.

Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming programs appear to be well on the way to producing Stars in the near future. Current Athletes in these disciplines are not yet Household names but avid Fans think that like Hidilyn Diaz and EJ OBIENA, some will attain prominence soon.
In Olympic Level Boxing, Female and Male Kababayans are stepping in the Ring fearless and throwing barrage of punches. They are competing in a manner the equivalent of “I am Pilipino and here to win”. Eumir Marcial is a promising Boxer who should have a successful Professional career. The “young uns” are maintaining the Legacy.

Swimming is a frontline event for the Filipino Team. Kababayans are always striving to be as good as Americans are in the Pool. CHLOE ISLETA is leading the effort. Hidilyn Diaz encourages another First in an event. Chloe Isleta embraces the challenge and look forward to Olympics 2024. There is no doubt that Filipinos would like to be as good as Jamaicans are on the Track.
Pole Vault in the Philippines is getting attention. E J Obiena and Natalie Uy are creating excitement. Natalie Uy is someone to follow. Fans of E J Obiena see him as a high prospect for a Medal in the Pole Vault Olympics 2024. It is likely that he will win the Gold Medal at Olympics 2024. He did not win the Gold Medal at WAC – 2022 but he performed at a high Level and won the Bronze.

Where does ETH go from a less than perfect season in 2022? She is planning to destroy the competition in a demonstrative way. She was not ready for the 100M and 200M at WAC – 2022. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 lacked the Neck and Neck drama. Filipino athleticism is more pronounced in Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming. Traditional Track and Field competition and performance could benefit from some improvement. Perhaps, Filipino Athletic Leadership should consider a Foreigner to participate in the Training of the Track and Field squad. Nothing-ventured nothing gain – what do you have to lose. A foreigner might be the catalyst needed to develop a new stock of Filipino Track and Field Athletes.
Now is the time to display a new caliber of Track and Field Athletes. Athletes who will do more than dominate the SEA Games but capable of competing at a high level in the Olympics and other International Track and Field competitions. Such attainment would bring attention to the Philippines Track and Field program now and beyond Olympics 2024.
Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming programs appear to be well on the way to producing Stars in the near future. While current Athletes in these disciplines are not yet Household names, avid Fans think that just like Hidilyn Diaz and EJ OBIENA, some will attain prominence soon.

Track and Field is lagging and might need some assistance from outside Country with respect to Times and Heights for the respective events.

Olympics 2021 and Prefontaine Classic 2021 is History. Up next of significance is World Athletic Championships – 2022. Jamaica’s Male Track and Field Athletes had a disappointing year in 2021. Thankfully the hurdlers were running. However, we need a Team. We need some Male athletes in the 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, and 1500M events. Fans believe there are already qualified candidates for the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, and Shot Put. The question is those prospects still actively pursuing an Athletic Career. In the search for Stars, remember the High Jump and Relays.
Jamaica’s male Track and Field athletes are having a drought but the Track Man is anticipating Rain for World Championship 2022 and torrential Rain for Olympics 2024. Rain in this context is indicative of Signature Performances. Cheers to you, Red Stripe beer, and Dragon Stout. Things will get better but it is time to get to work. Fans will patiently wait and provide pens for Signature performances.

Where are the prospects for Jamaica’s male Track and Field? It is time for all to Big Up. Usain is not the only one who can run. Did Usain take the best track shoes home? Thank goodness, he did not take the women shoes. It cannot be that because Usain Bolt no longer runs others wont. Usain Bolt might have been an inspiration or the equivalent of an insurance policy but Fans are looking for a few good men to inspire and motivate others.
There were great expectations that success at Common Wealth Games 2018 would carry forward to Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Fans did not realize that expectation in Tokyo 2021. At Commonwealth Games 2018, the team placed 11TH out of 43 with 27 Medals in total – 7 Gold, 9 Silver, and 11 Bronze. Not too shabby for an Island Nation. Fans anticipated improvement in Field events such as Long Jump, Triple JumpJavelin, Discus, Shot Put, Hammer throw, and High Jump. Fedrick Dacres and Traves Smikle won gold and silver respectively for Jamaica in the men’s discus. Those gains did not materialize in Tokyo 2021 but they are forthcoming.

Hurdling has caught on. In general, Jamaica’s Male Hurdlers are demonstrating what Fans expected in this Event. Hansle Parchment won Gold and Ronald Levy won Bronze in the 110M hurdles Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Jaheel Hyde has some work to do in the Men’s 400 meters hurdles but he can (Jama I can) do it. Nathon Allen and Yohan Blake should consider Retirement. There is only so much continuous running in the legs of a Professional sprinter. Both Men should try out for World Athletic Championships – 2022, end a Career, and move forward to a New Frontier. Below special reference and respect to some veteran Athletes.

Omar McLeod still impress despite not making the Team for Olympics 2020. Fans not sure what happened in the Jamaica Olympic Trials, probably overconfidence. His performances created interest in the 110M Hurdles event. The 110M Hurdles is an event in which Jamaican Athletes can excel. Until Omar is defeated at the Olympics or retires, he owns that event. He was the first from Jamaica to win the event on that stage. For now, let him enjoy the fame and fortune. It is time to get ready for World Athletic Championships – 2022. I am 100 percent behind him and support his consideration of the 400M Hurdles. Is it possible that Omar McLeod, Hansle Parchment, and Ronald Levy could produce a 123 in the 110M hurdles? Fans think it is possible.
