Shacari Richardson is unlikely to contend for the Gold medal in the 200m. In 2024 Elaine Thompson – Herah (ETH) will raise the excitement level in this event. Do not be surprised if Shericka Jackson is challenged. Hold on to your hat if you need it for Church Services. When those two Stars come around the bend at Paris 2024, remove or lose your hat.

Her performance should produce a time of 10.47 seconds. Track Fans cannot imagine Shacari Richardson or Shericka Jackson running the 100m event faster than 10.65 seconds.

Elaine Thompson Herah (ETH) is returning to Track shape. The Queen of Women Sprinting is moving forward with her preparation for Paris 2024. MVP Track Club is not a need or of value in the way forward for Elaine Thompson Herah. Elaine Thompson Herah will be fine. In 2024, she will realize that she has an opportunity to accomplish something that has never been done and no chance of being repeated. She will have a chance to complete a Triple Double in the 100m and 200m at the Olympics. She will have an opportunity to add some granite to her already cemented Track and Field career. Her Legacy, despite a Sub-Par 2023 season is etched in the annals of Olympic History.

Women 100m Hurdles will be the Blue Ribbon event at Paris 2024. The competition will be fierce. The field will be very talented. On any given day, any of the participants can win that event. The margin for error is low. Whoever clears the 3rd Hurdle first has the best chance of winning the event.

Men 400m will be a thriller. Could Vincent Price have written a better script? Can Antonio Watson run a sub 44.00 seconds? Expectations are that multiple Jamaicans will deliver in this event, at Paris 2024. To that end they are ahead of schedule. Antonio Watson ran the perfect race under the circumstances in Budapest. Congratulations to Antonio Watson for his Tactical performance. Those who have been asking Glen Mills for 400m Stars will see this victory as Redemption -“One Bob”. Making the Jamaican 400m Team for Olympics 2024 should be interesting and competitive. Anticipation is Jamaica Men 4 X 400m Relay team for Paris 2024 will be strong.

Men 400m Hurdles has become a Karsten Warholm affair. Running this event in 46.89 seconds is fast. Use to be 47.XX seconds would get the Gold medal but not anymore. McMaster appears to be doing something right in training. Rai Benjamin will be a factor. McMaster will be the Athlete to watch in Paris 2024. Roshawn Clarke gave a good account of himself and produced a Valiant effort in Budapest. Great things are in store for the young man in this event.

Men 110m Hurdles with Grant Holloway, Hansle Parchment, and Rasheed Broadbell will always be a battle. Winning the event in a time of 12.96 seconds or better will become common. With Gravity in control of the times in this event, it is unlikely we will see a sub 12.70 seconds result for this event.

Men High Jump, Tamberi, Harrison, and Barshim are the Stars in this Event. The results might be the same in Paris 2024 but fans anticipate a shuffle in the standings with Harrison given a slight edge. It will be interesting to see if anyone can jump higher than 2.36m.

All Flight Paths end in Budapest, Hungary for Track and Field World Championships August 19, 2023. Jamaica Men 4x100M squad, should medal in Budapest but it will take excellent baton passing. Four men capable of 9.9X with a running start should produce a time of 36.XX to 37.XX seconds for the event through the rounds. Regardless which Athletes are selected to run the final, they should be able to accomplish a time between 36 and 37 seconds. That should be good enough to get on the podium. Except for the USA, not many countries have two athletes who can run sub 10.00 seconds for the 100M event.

Jamaica Men 4x400M squad, should medal in Budapest. Four men capable of 45.XX with a running start should produce a time below 3:00 minutes for the event. Are we there yet?
Expectations by Key Events and Gender are as follows:
In the Women 100M Final, Shericka Jacko Jackson, and Shelly Ann Fraser – Pryce should medal. The Men 100M Final will be a different story. Fans fail to fathom a scenario in which Jamaican Men will earn a medal. However, strange things happen in Track and Field.
In the Women 200M Final, Shericka Jacko Jackson should medal. The Women 200M Event has a Looming cloud. Fans are having difficulty determining if Gabby Thomas is ready. Can Julien Alfred run a sub 22.00 seconds? Where does Dina Asher Smith factor in this mix? May the best Woman win on that day. Men 200M Final, is still wide open. Some Fans are not willing to declare Noah Lyles the winner. However, astute Fans know that 20.XX is not going to win that Event. Fans fail to fathom a scenario in which a Jamaican will win the event. No, I am not bashing, Track Fans welcome the facts every time.

The Women 400M Final is a Crapshoot. With Sydney McLaughlin – Levrone out of the Event there is new life for all Participants. Gabby Thomas would have had a Ball and ¾. Fans are bumming out on missing a thriller 400M event. Fans can envision a scenario in which a Jamaican could win the event. The Men 400M Final should be a Steven Gardiner affair but if he cheats on the backstretch, he will have a rude awakening.

The Women 800M Final should be interesting but there is rumor that Athing Mu might skip the Event. Natoya Goule is a star. She will be a force to reckon with. For The Men 800M Final take your Pick or root for your kind of Athlete.

The Hurdles will be the Blue Ribbon Event. The Women 100M Hurdles have a Cast of characters who could win the Event. Expectations are it will be a Jamaica versus USA rivalry. Whoever gets over the Third Hurdle first wins the Event. The Men 110M Hurdles should be a battle between Grant Holloway and Rasheed Broadbell.
Women 400M Hurdles could see Femke Bol win Gold but there could be a surprise. Probably best to see how the Rounds shake out. Men 400M Hurdles could see Rai Benjamin produce a spectacular performance but expect competition from the Jamaicans.

In the 1500M or Mile, I have no picks
Where it relates to the Relays there are four events and Jamaica has a slight edge in one, the Women 4 X 100M relay. Baton passing will be Key in the 4 X 100M relay. Whoever runs Legs 1 and 2 will be crucial to the result. My assumption is Elaine Thompson Herah will run the second Leg, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce will run the third Leg and Shericka Jacko Jackson will run the Anchor Leg.

Fans are calling for an end to the drought of victories and a return to performances consistent with Heritage. Fans anticipate Jamaica’s male Track and Field athletes to resume dominance at Olympics 2024. From this perspective, World Championships 2023 will not be the venue for Signature Performances. We know things will get better but it is time to get to work. Fans will patiently wait and provide pens for Signature performances at Olympics 2024.
Let us agree to dis-agree, World Championships 2023 will be a dress rehearsal for Olympics 2024. Fans anticipate improvement in Field events such as Long Jump, Triple JumpJavelin, Discus, Shot Put, Hammer throw, and High Jump. Hurdling has caught on. Jamaica’s Male Hurdlers are demonstrating what Fans expected in this Event. Learn the Technique and use your speed. Track and Field is hard work and Perseverance.

This fan is always positive and honest about Team Jamaica chances in Track and Field competition. Except for Shericka Jocko Jackson and the Male and Female Hurdlers, expectations are not high. Performances by event when compared to that of the USA Team are disappointing.

Looming disappointment came and left the Stadium. Let us move forward. MVP Track Club is not a need or of value in the way forward for Elaine Thompson Herah (ETH). Elaine Thompson Herah will be fine. In 2024, she will realize that she has an opportunity to accomplish something that has never been done and no chance of being repeated. She will have a chance to complete a Triple double of winning the 100M and 200M at the Olympics. She will have an opportunity to add some granite to her already cemented Track and Field career. Her Legacy, despite a disappointing 2023 season will be forever known. Newcomers to the Sport will aspire to win multiple doubles and not just a gold medal in an event. That mindset will add another level to Athletics.

Having said that let us look at the Jamaican National Trials – 2023. What was the Takeaway for astute Fans? Females are ready but need some fine-tuning. Male sprinters are glaringly not ready. Yohan Blake is ready to join the Sports Max Team. It is time for him to give Commentary and withdraw from competition.
Males who competed in the Jamaican 2023 National Trials should pull up a chair, watch a video of their performance, and while doing so get a video of the USA National Trials. Each Athlete should ask himself one question, am I good enough to compete? If you want an answer from this Fan, no you are not. Let us just look at the 100M and 200M. If your plan is to run 9.9X for the 100M and 20.2X for the 200M and write home to Mama announcing your victory in Budapest, I urge you to perish the thought. My recommendation is for the 100M think sub 9.8X and for the 200M think sub 19.7X.

Where it relates to the Relays there are four events and Jamaica has a slight edge in one, the Women 4 X 100M relay. Baton passing will be Key in the 4 X 100M relay. Whoever runs Legs 1 and 2 will be crucial to the result. My assumption is Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce will run the third Leg and Shericka Jocko Jackson will run the Anchor Leg.

There are prospects for Jamaica’s male Track and Field. It is time for all to Big Up. Usain is not the only one who can run. Did Usain take the best track shoes home? Thank goodness, he did not take the women shoes. Usain Bolt might have been an inspiration or the equivalent of an insurance policy but Fans are looking for a few good men to inspire and motivate others.
There were great expectations that success at Common Wealth Games 2018 would carry forward to Olympics 2020 in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Fans did not realize that expectation. Contrary to recent chatter, Track Fans including Puma and Nike will not let Track and Field die. Track and Field is the oldest Sport as the Drum is the oldest instrument. Track Athletes represent the best in Sports.

Tradition fades but never dies. There are trends, resurgences, and ebbing flows in Track and Field. Individual competition is here to stay. Competition among individuals starts from kindergarten and continues in the workplace including Politics and government.

Track and Field can never die. There are so many young people participating and on the cusp of making a name for themselves. Post 2024, there will be many new names in Track and Field, Male and Female. By 2028, records that seemed impossible to break will be eclipsed.

Meanwhile, there is concern about the whereabouts of Elaine Thompson Herah (ETH). Fans do not recall her being missing in action this long. Fact is, any Athlete not showing signs of readiness by July will not be ready for Budapest. If she plans to compete, now is the time to step forward.

Fans will have no problem if she decides not to compete in 2023. It will be acceptable if she takes a sabbatical and return in 2024 to attempt the 3-Peat Double of the 100M and 200M. We fans will be satisfied with that outcome. Absent knowledge of any impediment, fans are anxious for her return to the Track. At this juncture it would be nice and preferable if (ETH) schedule a Press Conference and declare her career intentions. True Fans will have no issues with her position or decision.

It appears that the rebound of Elaine Thompson Herah (ETH) might be threatened. Pre- season 2022 she opened with a 400M experiment, which in retrospect failed. Pre- season 2023 she again opened with another 400M experiment, which objectively was a failure. Unless it was a planned 300M experiment, it failed or proved nothing. Said experiment can be done in Training. Fans have no interest in seeing their Star struggle. Lactic acid will embarrass any Athlete. Our Star is not focus on her Bread and Butter events. Since the coaching staff is confused, then it is time for Sponsors to speak up. Disappointment is in the air.
If an Athlete wishes to experiment with the 400M, then do it in Training. The notion that running the 400M will prepare one for the 200M is folly, at least for ETH. No one wish for a return to her previous Track Club but Fans are encouraging current coaches to get their act together. ETH is on the cusp of a three – Peat of the double, 100 and 200M, at Olympics in 2024. By Jove, get to that point coaches. If this conduct is a strategy then Fans are now asking what exactly is the Goal. Disappointment is Looming.

Fans anticipate Signature performances in the women 100M, 200M, 400M, and 800M. Competitive Athletes are planning to surprise. They are planning to deliver exceptional performances to cap the era 2016 – 2024. Fans believe the 100M world record will be 10.47 seconds, the 200M world record will be 21.2 seconds, the 400M world record will be 47.5, and the 800M world record will be 1:52.55 by the end of Track season 2024.
Track and Field 2023 is moving forward. Track and Field is creating excitement and the World is watching. Expectations are Stars will be ready and competitors will be back rejuvenated and determined to outperform their rivals. In the midst of all this excitement and anticipation, The Olympics women 100M Record Holder is seemingly inactive. Disappointment is Looming.

2023 and 2024, will be defining years for some Track and Field stars. Careers will end or begin in these two years. Women 100M record will be 10.47 and the 200M record will be 21.2 seconds. BeyondApparent.com thinks the Olympic record holder for the 100M is most likely to accomplish that success as long as there are no hidden injuries. Fans should not be distracted by 60M Events. There is an Ocean between 60M and 100M and you had better be able to swim.
Women 400M and 800M events will be very competitive. Gabby Thomas will hunt for treasure in the 400M event. The 800M is still unsorted. With the exception of Athing Mu, there is still no indication in 2023 of anyone ready to be World Champion in the 800M event.

Jamaican Female sprinters, have unfinished business. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah (ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. They are anxious for Signature Performances. The next two years 2023 and 2024 is Prime time to run 10.47 for the Women 100M event. If 10.47 is not attained Fans will wait decades for that opportunity. Base on 2023 performances, 10.47 in the women 100M is more likely to occur in Paris than in Budapest. That record will last forever and a Day.

Absent injuries, ETH should to be a Factor in the Women 100M and 200M events in Budapest Hungary August 19, 2023. Less than Signature Performances will be a disappointment. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has work to do but nothing to be nervous about. The Spear will be burning in Budapest and will make Jamaica proud.

The 110M Hurdles is an event in which Jamaican Athletes should excel. It is time to get ready for World Athletic Championships – 2023. I am 100 percent behind Hurdlers. Is it possible that Omar McLeod, Hansle Parchment, and Ronald Levy could produce a 123 in the 110M hurdles? Fans think it is possible. However, there is a new person on the Team – Rasheed Broadbell. The Tail Gate Party continues to Olympics 2024.

2023 and 2024 will be defining years for some Track and Field stars. Careers will end or begin in these two years. Women 100M record will be 10.47 and the 200M record will be 21.2 seconds. BeyondApparent.com thinks the Olympic record holder for the 100M is most likely to accomplish that feat as long as there are no hidden injuries.

Women 400M and 800M events will be very competitive. Gabby Thomas will hunt for treasure in the 400M event. The 800M is still unsorted. With the exception of Athing Mu, there was no indication in 2022 of anyone else ready to be a World Champion.
2023 promises to be a rebuilding Year for Male Jamaican sprinters. Jamaican Female sprinters, particularly the Stars have unfinished business. Fans of Elaine Thompson – Herah(ETH) anticipate excellent years in 2023 and 2024. The next two years 2023 and 2024 is the time to run 10.47 for the 100M event. If a time of 10.47 is not accomplished Fans will wait decades for that opportunity. If she runs 10.47 for the 100M in Budapest or Paris, that record will last forever and a Day.

Absent injuries, ETH will to be a Factor in the Women 100M and 200M events in Budapest Hungary August 19, 2023. Elaine Thompson – Herah, has work to do but nothing to be nervous about. The Spear will be burning in Budapest and will make Jamaica proud.

Athletes planning to be in the Women 100M Final in Budapest with a Personal Best (PB) slower than 10.7X should skip the event. Participating in the event with a PB south of 10.7X, will make you late for Dinner, where dinner is the Gold Medal. The Women’s 100M Final in Budapest 2023 is on Track for a Time of 10.61 or better.

Track and Field competition in the Philippines continues with enthusiasm and optimism. Sources believe that participation and performance in the female camp will rival the spirit of Jamaican Athletes. It will take time to duplicate times, distances, and heights but they are moving forward.
Philippines Athletes are making efforts to improve their skills in Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump. They are exhibiting performances consistent with “I can do” attitude. Once competitively successful in International meetings, confidence will set in making the sky the limit. Future SEA Games will be preparation for Olympic competition.

Boxing, weightlifting, gymnastics, and swimming programs appear to be well on the way to producing Stars in the near future. Current Athletes in these disciplines are not yet Household names but avid Fans think that like Hidilyn Diaz and EJ OBIENA, some will attain prominence soon.
On the Olympic Level Boxing, Female and Male Kababayans are stepping in the Ring fearless and throwing barrage of punches. They are competing in a manner the equivalent of “I am Pilipino and here to win”. Eumir Marcial is a promising Boxer who should have a successful Professional career. The “young uns” are maintaining the Legacy.
Weightlifting is now a prominent sport. Weightlifters are encouraged by the performances of Hidilyn Diaz in SEA Games – 2022. Pinoys expect their good fortunes to continue. Fans expect the Team to be competitive on the International stage.

Swimming is a frontline event for the Filipino Team. Kababayans are always striving to be as good as Americans are in the Pool. CHLOE ISLETA is leading the effort. Hidilyn Diaz encourages another First in an event. Chloe Isleta embraces the challenge and look forward to Olympics 2024. There is no doubt that Filipinos would like to be as good as Jamaicans are on the Track.
Pole Vault in the Philippines is getting attention. E J Obiena and Natalie Uy are creating excitement. Natalie Uy is someone to follow. Fans of E J Obiena see him as a high prospect for a Medal in the Pole Vault Olympics 2024. It is likely that he will win the Gold Medal at Olympics 2024. He did not win the Gold Medal at WAC – 2022 but he performed at a high Level and won the Bronze.

Where does ETH go from a less than perfect season in 2022? She is planning to destroy the competition in a demonstrative way. She was not ready for the 100M and 200M at WAC – 2022. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 lacked the Neck and Neck drama. Regardless the race was competitive.

Moving forward it will be difficult to make Jamaica Olympic Team as a member of the 100M or 4 X 100M squad. 10.6X in the Women 100M event is the formula to win. The Tail Gate Party continues.

Diamond League season – 2022 is over and in some instances “mercifully”. Clearly, some Stars did not perform at expectations or sustained injuries that affected performance. There were Stars not ready to perform well or losing Velocity. 2022 was a Year in which one competitor said, “I did not come to compete, I came to win”. Fans like that kind of confidence in an Athlete, it means she came into the Season with “Fire in the Belly”. Base on observation, Fans might have to reset expectations for Olympics 2024. While Fans are not ignoring WAC – 2023, they find the Olympics historically more significant and most likely where the Women’s 100M world record of 10.49 will be broken. I anticipate the winning time and new record to be 10.47.
Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce had a Great Season. Fans believe 2022 was the Pinnacle of her Career. However, Fans cannot imagine her running 10.54 or faster for the 100M. Fans believe Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH), back-to-back 2016 and 2021 Olympic victories with an Olympic record in the 100M, is more significant and longer lasting.

Fans still think Elaine Thompson-Herah (ETH), can run 10.47 for the 100M. She just needs to regain focus. Shericka Jackson had a phenomenal season but until she runs a 10.47 100M and or destroy the Olympic Record of 10.61; she is not likely to be the next World Record holder in the event. Yes, we “want to” be starting something.

Where does ETH go from a less than perfect season in 2022? She was not ready for the 100M and 200M at WAC – 2022. The times required to win the featured Women events – 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 400M Hurdles, and 100M Hurdles were faster than recorded in the National Trials. The anticipated rematch between Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Shericka Jackson in the 100M Final at WAC – 2022 lacked the Neck and Neck drama. Regardless the race was competitive.

The sweep in the Women’s 100M occurred during WAC 2022, July 15 to July 24 but many dreamt of a 1234 finish with Kemba Nelson joining the Party. Shericka Jackson made progress with her Speed but given her running style she seem incapable of getting to the 100M mark before 10.7X seconds as was demonstrated at the Jamaica National Trials and WAC 100M Final. Undoubtedly, Shericka Jackson has figured out the “formula “to win the 200M.

In the off-season Athletes will have to develop a two-year plan, 2023 – 2024. Plan should include what is working and what is not. Do more of what is working and abandon what is not. All Athletes, base on performances in 2022, should be reviewing Weight Training. Lifting weights produce power but too much weight and improper technique will jeopardize speed and in some cases cause long term or permanent damage. Sprinting requires power but a damaged shoulder or back will affect speed. An Athlete cannot win the 100M without Speed in the first 30 meters. No speed no Dinner, where dinner is the Gold Medal.

There is Excitement and Entertainment in Track and Field. Going forward in the 100M and 200M events, Stars will have no time to keep anything in Reserve, they will leave it all on the Track. Stars will let competitors listen for the Gun and watch the Feet. The moment a competitor’s feet is off Blocks, Stars will BOOGIE. Stars should remember to treat competitors with respect. The competitive conduct in Track is “Good morning”, “Good afternoon”, and “Good Night” – Meet me at the Tape. The Tail Gate Party continues all the way to Olympics 2024.
